well didn't the celica GTS engine make it into the last XRS'? i mean i think that the tC is wek sos for real! i mean look the GTS was better than that effin tC, so basically your trading new technology for a wek sos engine when it SHOULD have been that they revamped the older engine and gave it a little more balls now THAT would have been a REAL XRS car. but then again i'm sure toyota doesn't want it "super competing" with that "tuner" market they have in the tC :jerkit:
im not a big toyota fan, unless it has a 2jz in it. so im a little biased.
matrix has been available in AWD for a while( i got one) so i would think they would continue to be soOriginally Posted by Ran

I would have to disagree with this statement. First off, it apears that the Camry motor was a downgrade but note this...... TRD never made a supercharger kit for the Celica GTS due to space and the fact that it was a high compression motor and can't hold boost. The Camry engine on the other hand from the factory can hold 13 psi easily. What seems like a meer downgrade is in fact a decent upgrade. Besides, when they rated the power of the '06 Celica GTS and Matrix XRS by the new SAE standard it only made 164 hp. And basicly no tq. The 2.4L has 4 less HP and like 30 FT lbs tq than the peaky 1.8L which is good for around town power and (believe it or not) gas mileage. I'd take the 2.4L in a heart beat. But if they found a way to mount the VVTL-i Head on the 2.4L I'll be all earsOriginally Posted by PURE jdm

K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.
They are both greatly improved over the previous models, the 2az-fe available in both will very likely have a trd s/c released for them also.
BTW toyota does make other good motors than the 2jz,, hell it hasnt been available in the US in 10 years now.
