    Default GTR/Infiniti?

okay this kinda, suck and kinda cool, the HP, will be amp up, but so is the price tag....

    2010 Infiniti GT-R

There were first rumors saying that the GT-R will be badged Infiniti. Now after it was launched, and turned out to be a Nissan after all, the company confirmed there will also be a Infiniti version of the GT-R.

The decision was made in an effort to consolidate Infiniti’s place on the sports-car market.

The 2010 Infiniti GT-R will be powered by the same 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 "VR38" engine found in the Nissan GT-R, but the output will be raised to 500 hp.

Stay tuned, more details will follow. At the moment, the company only confirmed the existence of the model.

There were allready alot of rumors about this car, now we have some artist renditions to go with it. When this car will be released it will be positioned above the Infiniti G series. Will we be able to drive a 4 door in the future? who knows….

Motor Trend has learned that Nissan is studying the possibility of a high-performance four-door Infiniti sedan based on the GT-R.

Nissan would have to stretch the GT-R’s platform to accommodate four doors, but would have plenty of room the 480-horsepower twin-turbo 3.8-liter VR38 V-6 engine. Although, it could share a lot from the GT-R platform, Motor Trend says expensive revisions would, likely, make the variant cost $3,000 to $5,000 more than the GT-R’s $69,000 base price.

I like the concept rendering of the four door, if they can pull the side off somewhat like that it might be a success.

I think they trying to compete with the luxury sport car like the lexus IS350 and guessing also the new bmw m3. g37 is nice, but guessing they want more HP as well wo compete with the HP of that of BMW and Lexus.

Nissan had plans to badge the Z32 300zx as an Infiniti in '89...one of the reasons the 1990 300zx didn't have the Nissan hamburger on the nose.

did you mean they just put infiniti badges on the GTR? Cause if so, then take a second look. The front end is different.

The GTR makes more power than the new m3 and is350. The g37 makes about the same power as the m3 and the is350

what i meant was the 2008 IS-F which makes 416 horsepower at 6,600 rpm with 371 pound-feet of torque available at 5,200 rpm.

while the 2008 BMW M3's 4.0-liter V8 will make 420 horsepower at 8,400rpm and 295 pound feet of torque at 3,900rpm

The g37 only make 330hp so, that why im guessing they gonna to make a 4 door version of the gtr to compete with these two cars. infiniti will no doubt have more power, but it all about competition in a comparative market, you constantly need to improve or lagged behind.

Guys..the real reason they are doing this is simple. Lexus is releasing LF-A, Acura is releasing the new NSX..etc etc...Infinti, being Nissan's premium brand, needs a "halo" car to compete and have a presence in that segment. A small, niche car to show that , hey, we can build a supercar too.

That said, if they simply rebadge the Nissan GT-R and up the horsepower, it's a crap way to do it.

toyota are not sure they will produce the LF-A yet, they seeing if the public welcome it, while the NSX is still being design, and they are having a hard time on it. Even if every thing goes well, it wont be release until 2010, and I dont think infinti would go against the nsx, infiniti is a luxary car, while nsx is a sport car.

Okay, so you're telling me that Lexus is touting around this car that they have shown in both coupe and convertible form for the past few years for NO reason? Please be serious. It's not a matter of IF they will produce it, it's just a matter of time.

And Lexus is a sportscar brand? C'mon, please be serious again. Lexus was the ANTI-sports car brand. Exactly what sporting vehicle has lexus EVER produced. Do not spout out the IS300--it's not a sportscar, nor are any of the L-tuned vehicles. Remember, when Honda created the SSX concept car way back in late 1996 and early 1997..everyone was like no way Honda will ever produce a RWD 2 seat sportscar...fast forward 3 years and hello S2000.

Acura is also not a sportscar manufacturer..in fact, it's a LUXURY brand. Honda's LUXURY division. Acura has CONFIRMED they will produce another NSX, it's just nobody knows anything really about it. Which is no crime since nobody KNEW what the R35 GT-R would be like. It was done in 100% secrecy. The Integra/RSX is NOT a sportscar no matter how many ricers would like it to be. The only TRUE sportscar they have ever produced is the much loved NSX.

Infiniti (Nissan) knows whats coming from Acura and Toyota and they need something to make people swoon also. Infiniti was also a boring brand up until the G35 came out a few years back. Before Ghosen took over the reigns at Nissan, Infiniti's were worse than Acura and Lexus in the rebadging of regular vehicles. The G35 got people excited again, and rightfully it should. But it is not the flagship halo car, nor can it be...it's the bread and butter car.

Your quote just simply stated that you are narrow-minded and have no concept of how auto manufacturers work and compete...nor do you seem to pay any attention to the auto world. I think the word I am looking for is...IGNORANT.

First off, I did not say that lexus is not going to produce the LS-A, Totoya has been known to scramp stuffs if the public does not like it/or sell does poorly. secondly, where did i post that i said lexus is a sport brand? Lexus is a brand that was the luxary branch of toyota, and their first sport car was a 2002 sc430 or you can go back and add the sc300/or 400 if you want to consider those as a sport car.

I know acura is going to produce the NSX, been known blah blah, I say it wont be release until 2010, so it will probaly be on sell late 2010 or 2011, and the price on that car is said to be 100g, as probably would the lexus LS-A. while the report says that the new infiniti would be about 75-80g.

When I made my first commet, i was commenting on the 4 door version that they are debating to make off of the gtr platform, not the 2 door.

The aim of lexus and acura supersport car are mostly to extoic cars brand like porsche and ferrari, but also to the nissan gtr. they(lexus and acura) are mostly building their two super cars to compete against the gtr. http://news.windingroad.com/category.../lexus/page/2/

Infiniti might make a version of the gtr, but there main goal is not sport, but luxary. Even tho their two main competitors are lexus, and acura.

"Closest rivals Lexus and Acura are both working on developing 500hp supercars of their own and as Nakamura pointed out during a previous interview, there remains significant interest in the segment in the luxury performance market. "

and for your last statement, go **** yourself. you think you know something, but you really don't.

SC300/400 and 430 are NOT even CLOSE to sportscars..they are merely sporty coupes. In fact, the SC430 is a poseur car made for women.

Luxury performance market simply equates to competing with the Ferrari 599, Audi R8, etc etc...

I agree with you on the 4 door concept, but that would be more a competitor to the BMW M5, Mercedes E63, Audi S6, etc etc for the 80 grand.

Ahh i see what ur saying. I thought u meant base model lexus. I agree with what ur saying tho. Although the euro's may have close power, they are still na v8's which would be very complicated and expensive to modify where as the gtr makes more power stock and could easily push more power with a simple turbo(s) upgrade.
