Default 350z? Does year matter? Whats the difference?

Alright guys. I've been looking into getting a 350z. I'm thinking about 2006 but I've heard some bad stuff about it, so I'm still debating whether I should get one or not.

I know that starting 06, it has a different motor then 05 and below. And maybe 50/50 chance that the motor will consume massive amount of oil. And when it gets really bad, the car will have to be lemoned ? Is this true?

If anybody can help me out on some facts about 350z's that will be great and reps will be given. I've been researching on my own, but can't really seem to figure out what I want.

Just general ideas will be fine.. like.. whats the difference between different trim levels, and blah blah. Pros and Cons and stuff like that.

the 03-04 have the non Rev-up engine, the 05-06 have the rev-up engine. the 07 got the VQ35HR engine that makes 306hp and has the dual intake. I would go with the 07...or just wait for the 370Z that has the same engine as the G37.

All the engines from 03-06 had the oil consumption problems. Well, I take that back, some did and some didnt, but there were complaints from all years. I dont know about the HR engine.

    $39,000 for a car that cost 34,000 + a body kit.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense.

On the other hand, look what was sold in japan....

    NISMO Fairlady Z 380RS

Announced in February 2007, Nismo announced the launch of the Nismo 380RS. The Nismo 380RS is a modified version of Nissan Z33 Fairlady Z. Two versions have been announced, the first is track-only model called the 380RS-C (C for competition), the second is a street model being sold at Nissan dealers. Both versions use a Nissan VQ series V6 engine, bored and stroked to 3.8L. The track-only 380RS-C makes 400hp, and the street version makes approximately 350hp. The Nismo 380RS is only being sold in Japan.
