Nissan GTR Spec V?

As previously reported, Nissan will launch an even more powerful GT-R version in 2009, with sales beginning in 2010. Now BestCar released a few renderings of how GT-R Spec-V might look like and also some informations about it.

The bonnet is finished in raw carbon-fibre, which will no doubt please the Initial D crowd, while the front bumper sports some extra venting. The weight will be reduced with about 100 kg, bringing the total kerb weight to 1640kg.

Power will also be increased with 40 hp, so the VR38DETT will now have a maximum output of 512 hp.
















It's widely understood that Nissan will slowly roll out improved, and more specialised, models of the R35 GT-R over the next few years, with one of the most eagerly-anticipated of these being a lightweight, no-frills motorsport variant much like the V-Spec models of the R32-R34 generations.

Best Car Magazine have produced their own rendering of just such a car, (above), and to give you an idea of what a "Spec V" might feature, past V Spec GT-R's typically had revised suspensions, lower weights and reprogrammed ATTESA-ETS all-wheel-drive systems.

Best Car's article also depicts some kind of funky bracing arrangement in the rear of the cabin (below), which could either be a novel approach to rollover protection, or just a bad case of styling gone awry. Best Car speculates that weight will also be pared down by some 100kg, bringing the total kerb weight to 1640kg - pretty porky, but still an improvement on the GT-R Premium Edition's almost 2-tonne mass. Power is also said to be up by around 30kW, bringing the VR38DETT's output to a grand total of 382kW.

idk why nissan would call it the Spec V with them already having a Spec V.... perhaps they would have followed suit by calling it the V SPEC edition... i'm sure they will bring out a Nur Spec II also as time passes.... God bless nissan!

yes, it kinda different by the rims,(t37 lookalike)the rims was masked and was recently caught unveil. Guessing nismo is testing it out.

The Nissan GT-R is already a powerful model, but this is not the only thing coming from Nissan. A mighty V-Spec is also in the works and will be launched by the end of next year. It will add another £20,000 to the £55,000 GT-R’s price.

While the standard GT-R produces 473bhp, the range-topper is tipped to deliver a huge 550bhp from its twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6. The 16 per cent power boost will be matched by a substantial 150kg weight reduction to make the V-Spec one of the most hardcore supercars on the planet.

The V-Spec’s exterior features side skirts and splitter. Inside, the cabin will be stripped out to help reduce weight, but the dash-mounted touchscreen will remain. In fact, by the time the model arrives, the features available in the hi-tech system will be even more advanced, giving greater control of the set-up on the move.
