Okay, let's see. All motor, reliable, and practical seem to be the order of the day so let's see.Originally Posted by type_r
I guess you skipped over the all motor, reliable, and daily driver part huh? First off, all motor RX-7's are pretty much garbage, especially considering his budget. Second, the rotor-bomb is far from reliable and 12MPG isn't exactly practical for daily driving. That pretty much takes care of that.Originally Posted by 87 Turbo II
If he were considering boost or an engine swap, I'd agree with you. However practical, all-motor KA24's are hardly worth praising and accelerate like turds. RWD is fun, yes but with what the 240 comes with here in the states, it's not a very good choice for a fun N/A platform.Originally Posted by plv
Practical in terms of gas mileage, great aftermarket support, and all motor? Who gives a sh*t if it's FWD? The GSR does the best to meet the requirements you've set for a car considering your initial options.Originally Posted by bRiAnMcIvIcS
I, personally, say go Miata. You can get a sweet NA series MX-5 for under $5000. Practical, reliable, RWD, can move it's own weight, and an outstanding aftermarket support. Win.
^^ Rotary are not trash when they are taken care of, ( the inherent problem) but a Miata sounds like it would fit his needs to a T
Even if he managed to get one that was well maintained, he'll still be getting 12-13MPG and still be a torqueless wonder. That's neither practical nor fun, obviously. lolOriginally Posted by eraser4g63
Turbo II's are lots of fun, but their N/A counterparts drive like crap. Considering that the OP wants to go all-motor, that kinda limits the comparison.

Leisa and S. 4 Life NM?
you have 5k?
buy my 240whp s13 240sx SR20det w/t28 turbo for 5k
spank any GSR out there.
out handle them, out dorifto them, and out launch them
GSRs are only fun if you have a garage and $500 plus dollar alarm...
Having owned a GS-R and an FC.
Go with the GS-R

Also, if you get an FC, it is at least a 15 year old ROTARY powered car that you don't know the history of. Don't make that mistake.
UGA: Everybody is laughing at us this year.
Both of those cars are overrated but if I'd choose between those two I'd go with a GSR. Why just those two though? Plenty of other options out there...
