I'm just curious if anyone else has done or started on a H2B swap.

helpin my homeboy with his right now..but he got the skunk2 intake manifold...it sits really high...so we had to cut the hood...but other than that..if you catch traction..its a k20 killer
when i hear "JDM" i think about 1998 and FF SQUAD. the originators
BABIES "R" US crew
sounds interesting what chassis the engine going into ?Originally Posted by r_Senik

its wonderful
all the manifolds are gonna be high, so you have to space the hood. i think its only EK that doesn't.
EVO - gives more hood clearence
QSD - gives more ground clearence
choose one that you want to sacrifice.
If i did the h2b i'd def choose more ground clearance hood issues i can deal with.but bashing oilpans in pot holes or catching a chunk of something on the highway sucks.Originally Posted by Nang
the 1/4 times seem impressive after checking on other forums.everyone seems pleased with doing h2b's.seems very interesting.
good, trust me, its a b!tch of a time changing em.
don't forget to grind enough from the back of the block, cuz its hell doing it when the swap is in.
not 100% sure .. but im sure it will be more of a DD than a track vehicle.Originally Posted by phatboislim
its a waste of time an money because most people wont do it RIGHT.
Furthermore, thae setups i have seen are halfassed and havent
1) made any power to make me think they are BETTER
2) ran any fast track times to make me think they are BETTER
than the average B series.

I seen a few buildups that were more positive than negative.it seems like alot of people just cut corners alot when doing it.i know it is better than your average h22 swap since there is no custom axles,no cutting for the cables.the fact the b-series tranny has more aftermarket support and it already seems better than any h-series tranny from the factory.im sure there are alot of good swaps speically if people know how to actually get their power to the ground.
im also looking into doing a h2b...dont kno much yet but still working on it..good luck on yours...
Thanks .. im just not finacially able to do a k-series swap yet hahahaha so why not do something interesting.I was leaning to the normal h22 swap but the h2b just really seems fun.Originally Posted by EJdm
h2b is not a k20 killer. probably a mid to high 13 sec modd in a eg hatch. jdm itr is better.
I seen some nice ones .. if you know what your doing as far as tuning and actually not using a LS tranny and using shortgeared trannies with lsd then alot is possible.maybe not k20 killer ? but better than your average h22 swap.I hate the h/f-series trans, glad i havn't done a h-swap yet cause i'd sacrifice $ for a h2b kit so i wouldnt have to cut my precious EF's all up for a h/f-series trans.but everyone is titles to their own opinions .. some love their b16's some love their b18c's i just like the h22 and im glad i have a option to use a better tranny.plus not do any cutting.
pm spoolnslide iirc he was one of the first people to have this setup in ga.
Found alot of nice builds online, plenty of vids and the swap seems to be worth it if you know what your doing.

you sound like it's a bad thing

the h22 has equal power to that of a typeS ..
adding a b-series shortgear tranny with lsd i think is well worth it.
I agree it maynot be a k20 killer like most claim .. possibly stock with the right drivers it could be very close.but of course the k20's just prevail with very few mods and little effort their power is just way up there even after the slightest modifications.but either way the H2B set-up is something worth doing,as long as there is no cutting corners like mentioned above and if done correctly and the engine gets a few mods maybe some cams i know that it can be very quick.the h22 im sure loves a shortgear transmission.

Not a Type R killer... please.
I know for a fact that a straight H22 in a hatch can beat a Type R, so you best believe a H22 with GSR or B16 tranny will squash a Type R. Traction would be the only issue.
Trend settin'

H2B, again, is NOT a K killer, at least not in a straight line. It got that reputation because they rape, when perfectly set up, on a road course. You've got the large powerband, and "big" [for an N/A, mostly stock Honda] numbers of the K series with fewer gear changes. On a street setup, with similar mods, you're looking at neck and neck with all other things being equal [ driver skill, chassis, etc.]
Don't get me wrong, I think they're interesting, I just wanted to clear up some of the BS.
i bet i can kill K's a single cam can kill K's its all in the build no one holds the title any motor can run it
anything is possible if you put your mind to it ! thats what school teachers use to tell us in elem. schoolOriginally Posted by KPowerEP3

H22 all the way and with a typeR tranny the 1.8L will be put to shame sorry.Originally Posted by southside

Looks like there is going to be an argument about this until proven ? so i guess us H2B guys will have to prove it.I have all respect for the Spec-R engine but sorry it's not the only Honda engine that makes power !
