dunno if this would be the right forum .but here it is . alot of people recommend this and alot dont .... so my question is would this be a Alright setup for a DD ?? or for track use only ??? im wanting 10-13psi on a daily driver ... would yall recommend different pistons or wut ??? lmk

Yes its a great and proven setup to work, pretty safe for 300whp with a good tune of course. But it does drop the compression so you will lose a little power out of boost.

i ran just stock rods and vitaras on my d15z. Made 200whp, great setup, especially if your adding the eagle rods. For that, you can run 15psi all day long with the tune to back it up.

i plan on letting Batlground or mainstream tune this setup .. i read about some people having success stories and some failures with this setup ......... some people said track use only ... jus wanted to see wut everyone else thought .

i would suggest if you're going eagle rods to go ahead and use at least srp pistons over the vitaras. the vitaras lower compression a lot lower which will give you a greater window for detonation resistance, but off boost the car doesn't have the same power as you would with 9:1 forged pistons.

most of the vitara setups that i've seen have a lot of slap/noise...could just be the build, but for the little bit extra i would just go w/ a cheaper forged piston if you're trying to spare the budget.

I have more than that, and I'm with the stock D16Z6. At 14psi it made 232whp/206wtq but I drive it at 15psi. Been like that for over a year, over 15k miles, lol

When i had my Z6 motor boosted i made 283 to the wheels with the vitara pistons on scat rods. I was boosting 14 psi daily, but i never really ran it hard. When i came to Ga, i sold m motor too a guy on here and the was still running strong.

It all depends on your goal for hp man. If you go with those pistons, you will have piston chater. It goes away when the car is warm. But not all of it. It's normal. Just tell everyone that your car is diesel. LOL!! But g/l on your build man. For a low budget build, it's worth it.

ive seen MANY vitara builds make 400+ on 57 trims and 24-26psi and last for a few years...of course they wasnt beat on or drove everyday on that much boost but it's proven that they are good for the power.

I like vitaras too. And there are longer rods especially for use with vitara pistons too (check fjt, he sells them at d-series.org and turbod16.com)
