1st of all - he didn't come in here asking about B series sh.it. I hate it when people do this.
rods, cost the same for a D or B. Pistons cost the same for a B or D. Turbo kits cost ABOUT the same for a B or D. So YES, the POTENTIAL to make more power is there w/ the B series pound for pound. But I am tired of every1 doing the same sh.it also.
I'd love to see some1 build a SERIOUS all-motor D that's not a bolt-on car. And I'd love to see some1 put 2 - 3k into a D series head, bump up the CR -- maybe a d17 crank and rods, a header, cams, and tune the hell out of and WAX B SERIES ASS!!!
To answer your question w/out suggesting you go D. MAKE SURE that you set goals for what you want, otherwuse you're halfway through a project and some1 will make you change your mind. WRITE IT DOWN! If you want to take the road less traveled and put together a serious D then go for it. And if u want to know how much serious heads will sit you back then hit Jim up at
www.stewartengines.com and talk to him. You can go from a simple port/polish w/ reloaded hardware or you can go all out.
Most of all, build what YOU want to build. Good luck.
