What car are you referring to? Some cars like 95-99 Eclipses have the exhaust tunnel coming out of the left side on non turbo cars and the right side on turbo cars. So really it depends on the car, not just the people.
some people are left handed and others are right handed.. JK IDK either

It depends on how the engine is lay out most of the time.
Like on the 240sx, the exhaust is on the driver side because the exhaust port is facing the driver side.
^^ umm, this isnt just referring to rwd cars. U can always just redirect ur exhaust as well. Being custom built.

actually, most cars the exhaust comes out the rear. A select few car have the exhaust out the side '04 Mustang Roush's, Vipers, some other exotics....

Sometimes it has to deal with flow. The straightest exhaust possible.
Theres a yellow CRX sitting at an exhaust shop. It's coming out the right side. And... I think mattAPM has his coming out the left in front of the driverside tire. I THINK.
