i think the ptc(civic type r) pistons are an overkill for the ls/vtec set up
you should probbly run pr3(b16) pistons![]()

Your almost 13:1, dont do it, sell the CTR pistons an use PR3 (B16) which will give you a nice 11.5:1.
BC5s are too aggressive for that setup, youd be better off with Skunk2 PRO1s are BC4s

the pr3 is a good piston but i just did an ls/vtec with the p30 for a freind and i beat him with a stock gsr swapped hatch:idb: so i want to go bigger![]()

because those cams have tons of duration on the low cam alone not counting the high cam so you have to worry about valve to valve clearance before you can even think about piston to valve. to set them up and run them the right way you would have to sink the valves into the head quite a bit to keep the valves from hitting each other down low.
trust me i ran them in my engine. as for the ctr's why the hell would you want to use the heaviest factory honda pistons on factory ls rods even if everyting was setup perfect you could spend a litle more money and make more power with aftermarket parts.
just buy some eagle rods for cheap and some 11:5 or 12:1 cp's or something and make more power with better parts and it will run way longer
