A chassis for more than 400 km/h.
If you want to drive fast, there is one thing your car really needs: adhesion! Without this, your dream of the absolute maximum speed can not become a reality . That is why, the speed specialist 9ff from Dortmund has teamed up with the development partner H&R-Spezialfedern.
No other manufacturer can pride itself on having such an extensive know-how of Porsches as well as maximum velocity (V/max). The fastest standard Porsche Carrera GT and all Alzen Porsches are equipped with top class suspension systems by H&R as well as their own development the Mission 400 Plus.
At the end of 2004, 9ff reached 372.2 km/h with a tuned Porsche Turbo. Later, their top-speed tuned GT3 with 840 hp reached 388 km/h. In early 2006, it was followed by the world’s fastest convertible based on the current 997 reaching an incredible speed of 381 km/h.
In cooperation with the car customising company from Dortmund, the specialists from H&R-Spezialfedern want to break the magic mark of 400 km/h this autumn.
True specialists are now working under the body, weighing no more than 1300 kilograms, everything seems to be in favour of this project.
Thanks to H&R’s experience with touring race cars as well as the super sports car CLK DTM AMG powered by an engine with 582 hp, the chassis could be significantly improved. The rear axle now features a special push rod suspension as used in motorsports. At the front axle, the weight of the shock absorbers was once again reduced by applying high-tech materials such as, aluminium and high-strength steel. The inner friction
was minimised by a special linear bearing, also used in Formula 1, resulting in a significantly reduced breakaway torque and consequently in better response behaviour. Thus, the driving stability is enhanced and a misalignment at high speeds can almost be ruled out.
In addition to this, the car now also features a mid-mounted engine for better balance. The engine power was again increased from 837 hp to an incredible 987 hp.
