I'd be careful with your exaggerations Mazdaguy. The Miata weighs about 2200 lbs and the Firebird is about 3300 lbs. That's nowhere near a 2x difference.

thank you for your support and overall kindness... it kinda sucks when an entire thread forum of guys is attacking a female. cut me some slack guys. i just got into cars about a year and a half ago. i just like to drive fast and learn about cars every opportunity i can get, and once again. i love my firebird. it's the most awesome thing i've ever owned and the fact that i actually paid for it with my own money makes me even more proud to own it.

it's FWD, so no, it isn't. (DISCLAMIER: this is a biased opinionated hatred of FWD cars, so don't give me spec sheets or anything, I just hate FWD cars, and American cars, and a Neon is both)

fwd cars can be fast as crap on a track with the right driver. basically, you have to drive one with more oversteer. its the opposite of RWD. FWD throttle = understeer. you have to learn to pitch the car into the corner. instead of going full throttle to rotate, you lift.

You CAN make FWD handle, I have owned five Hondas, all of which handeled VERY well. The Neon 1st gen DID have a good setup, at least the ones raced, but saying it's better then a Miata?
