Yeah, a Firebird is 150% of the weight a Miata has to lug around.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

A good friend of mine has an 1984 z28 that would stomp a mudhole in a stock TII (like yours) in the corners and still kick my old TII's ass (330rwhp) in the quarter mile. And still run the same curves right with my other friends FD. He built it for under 6k. Its all about how you build it and what for.

Exactly. Where the car was made does not determine how a car will perform.

    Mine's the red one.

Yeah, the Firebird also has 147% more power and 255% more torque than the Miata. (no exaggeration here)

Let's not forget the fact that the Miata will reach full potential WAY EARLIER than the V8 powered Firebird.
    There's no replacement for displacement.

EDIT: okay, i just re-read the first post of this thread and realized that it's a track race and not a drag race. In that case, power and displacement won't be the primary factors, but I think that they'll make up for the heavier weight, and the subpar handling characteristics of the Firebird.
