    Default why?

    Why do you do it?
why do you sacrifice safety, and performance for a cheaper price?
why do you degrade your car by using them??

WHY THE **** DO YOU USE KNOCKOFF WHEELs

all you rota/sportmax whatever the **** is the name of hte week...why not save the cash and buy the real wheels?

Sacrifice performance? yes most knockoffs are heavier than the real thing, Saftey? bull**** how often to you hear of a knockoff wheel causing a wreck, it doesn't happen. Why would someone on a tight budget waste $3000 dollars on one part for their car? Does it really make sense to spend 2-3K $ on a car that cost 3K? Think about what you could do with all the money you save by buying knockoff wheels. Futhermore if you really want the best performance cheap you should run the widest most high performance tire possible on you stock wheels to save money.

    Spending 3K on wheels=fail
Cheap wheels that look good until you can afford expensive ones=WIN!!

Capt Rons got a point. Not all of us have money like you Yokota, or ur family, or mom&dad, whomever supplies u with money. I'd buy a knockoff any day before I laid down 2-3k for a set of wheels.

    3k?
    No
you can get work XD9s/XT7/XC8 for like 1200.00
and the biggest tire is teh WORST idea ever. learn some about tires please.

buying cheap wheels to save money until you buy new ones?
WHy not jsut save up and buy ONE SINGLE set of wheels?
instead of wasting money on others.....that you end up reselling you loose money on.
if you buy Quality wheels, they normally retain their value.

sa far as safety....have you ever heard of a Work hub comming off a wheel?
ive seen a sportmax do it.....an idiot in japan with them did it at the track. mid drift the rear wheel separated from teh hub...it was still bolted on.

I'm a college student, and I don't track my car. 2 perfectly good reasons why knockoffs will suit me just fine.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with rota wheels. I've known numerous people with them and never has anything gone wrong. Granted, it would be better to have the real thing if you track your car, but for someone who just wants a decent, nice looking set of wheels, why not?

The only people I see being upset about knock-offs are guys who own the real thing and get mad because the general public has no idea that they are different.

I mean, damn, who cares what other people put on there own cars? It's not like they're an eye soar like neon lights or hideous body kits.

This doesn't look degrading, it looks better than any $1000 wheel. Plus a legitimate retailer makes this replica.

Funny. Coming from a guy who runs SSRs, whose quality amongst popular "real deal" wheels is suspect at best.
Please tell me if you think my car looks good. But don't tell me if you think it's ugly - only on IA

i think problems with SSR rims are US market and very limited to which rims are affected and or suspect

WHY THE **** DO YOU USE KNOCKOFF WHEELs

all you rota/sportmax whatever the **** is the name of hte week...why not save the cash and buy the real wheels?
Sacrifice safety? Are you high? Do you actually know what you are talking about?

I got hit in the front left quarter of a 240 on the highway by a lady pressing 85. She hit right in the wheel. Sport Max. Put a 1/4 inch gash in it and knocked the air valve out. Other than that, no bends and still held air. As for sacrificing performance, heavier sure, but other than that...it's a wheel. So unless name brand wheels somehow managed to re-invent the wheel,...it's a wheel.

So you can feel free to blow your money on whatever wheel makes you **** hard but smart people without major resources don't shoot their load on a set of wheels cause they say Rays on em.

If you are going to respond to my post please read it correctly first. I never said biggest tire. You are correct that would be dumb. I said widest. If you are looking for pure performance putting the widest, stickiest tire on your stock wheel will often provide much better performance than a cheap tire stretched on a bigger, wider aftermarket wheel.

I don't know, but i will save up money for a brand name.
At least get enkei, after I see knock off bending by running over pot holes, I rather get something brand name. The theory behind things are you get what you pay for.

ACTUALLY road race cars have no stretch to the tires. having stretch=having no grip. the tire has to be able to flex to grip. thats the whole concept behind a tire.

this argument is another dumb subjective argument. there is plenty of good reasons to buy rotas instead of spoons. and do you know how many race wheels get bent on apex curbs? do you know how many affordable race wheels there actually is? why drop a bunch of cash on some bling bling heavy ass jdm crap wheels, if you can buy something non-bling and lightweight like team dynamics? because in your opinion, the bling jdm wheels are better. money is money. if you have the money to drop a ****load on rims, by all means go ahead. ill stick with the budget wheels even if i have the money for something better.

this argument is another dumb subjective argument. there is plenty of good reasons to buy rotas instead of spoons. and do you know how many race wheels get bent on apex curbs? do you know how many affordable race wheels there actually is? why drop a bunch of cash on some bling bling heavy ass jdm crap wheels, if you can buy something non-bling and lightweight like team dynamics? because in your opinion, the bling jdm wheels are better. money is money. if you have the money to drop a ****load on rims, by all means go ahead. ill stick with the budget wheels even if i have the money for something better.
    I dunno about you
but my 19s weigh 27 lbs each
thats like lighter than a sportmax.....
there is an advantage to jdm goodness if htats what you wanna call it.
ill post some pics of race cars that have strech on em...i just gotta find the thread that we had hte argument on zilvia....keep in touch

and im selling the 19s to go back to 18s, i dont like the feel...when i do. im geting new LMGT4s, Meisters, GTUs, or TE37s...not sure which one yet

Wouldn't make a difference if I was on 15x6.5'' steelies. Comment was directed at the picture, not at what a badazZ JDM wheel snob I am.
