    Default b20 dyno

just got my new b20 hatch dyno'd today and thought id post up #'s...It's got I.H.E., port and polished head and b16 tranny
140whp, 128wtq suprised me a bit I was guessing ~126hp and ~108tq based on stock numbers. These motors are very underrated IMO, guy at the shop told me he just had a relatively stock gsr put down less than I did

tristar, they cost a lil bit more than allspeed but they are so much easier to deal with and they know exactly what they are doing.

Crower 403 or 404 will get you above 150 possibly into the 160's at the expence of the idle

yea im thinkin about doin that in the future and upgrading the valve springs and retainers, I hear thats a weakness on the b20 motors...I also heard that they don't make cams for the b20 and I need to use the ls's upgraded cams I guess they work the same

What spec B20 do you have?? If it's a B20B then yeah your numbers are pretty high but if it's a B20Z then you're just about right!!

I had a buddy with a B18B with I/H/E and cam gears and he put down 140whp. The non-vtec B series engines make good power.

No they actually say B20Z. I used to have both a B20B and a B20Z in my old hatch. I was a B20 fanatic at one time. Then I stepped up to VTEC, then boost!! It's been all downhill since then. I think I'm gonna start over w/ another LS or B20 in the new build.

well he told me b16b tranny and that the b16b is the type r tranny...so either its that or he lied to me, It has very short gear ratios so I never questioned it

lol yea. Tri star must of turned over 100+ GTO's since they opened. They're big fans of the Ls1 motors.
