as an Rx-7 owner, I'll say I've looked into the Rx-8s, and the chassis are GOLDENly setup for handling. The mod expansion ability won't be particularly high, but Mazdaspeed and racing heart makes plenty of exhaust and suspension mods. Then you can do the usual brakes, and a few small engine tweaks. Seriously AMAZING autocross cars, they hug the road.
