baby gsr b17 vs ls b18
Ive heard many things about b17s.I was wondering if anyone has seen one in person many people i asked about it said that they suck.I was thinkin that they should be in between the two b18c and b16. so it should be a descent motor ,but many people have told me that they would rather have a ls than a b17. I thought vtec should rule over a ls but if b17s suck why do they suck is it the head or what which one is a better build all motor ls or all motor b17

I like the B17 if you build it right, My good friend brad has one in a ef which is fine, not in a heavy car then you be ok, his has some work done, and he fights with my boy tom that has a type r in Eg they are neck to neck very close, b17 had more work then type r but all mighty type r be my choice! my 0.02 cents... now on top end, Type r
I was about to say ive heard some stuff about toms type r and what work does your friend have like cams or head work but why does the b17 have suck a bad wrap is it becuz the car they came in were too heavy for the motor or what

it is basically a stroked B16 (yes i know there is a little more, but it's negligable) i would rather have the B17 than the B18B stock for stock.

why did they not produce b17 more than that time being but the ls was produced all the way up until 2001 it gotta be a reason for that im guessing honda didnt like the setup they built and threw it back on the shelf i dont kno i havent seen one i just wanted to kno the difference

ive had 2 b17s an i liked them. they felt like b16s nothing special about them. the b17 and the ls to me feels the same also trading off the low end tq of the ls for the high end hp of the b17.
I have a 93 gsr with a b17 and to be honest they are great motors, i had a lil work done to mine it runs fine and it will rape type r's all day long and evo's etc in conclusion they are good motors to have
