Default Poll Mom is buying A car, which one should she get?

Ok, my mom is in the market for a new\used car. Most likely it will be a used car, because of budget restrictions.

I have been suggesting she get either a IS300 or GS300
but she is also considering BMWs, mainly an e46 3series.

She just purchased a 2003 325i Sedan with 64k miles for 16000 out the door.
I advised agaisnt it because I know how expensive BMWs are to maintain.
She still has until Wenesday to return the car, if she chooses not to keep it.

So I need everyones opinion on what you guys think she should get.

Please voice your opinions as they all would be much apreciated, after voting please leave a comment on why you choose what you did. Thanks.

3 series are great and fun cars to drive. Keep it or get another one. Maintenaince on them may be considered a little pricey but not much maintenance has to be done in the course of a year compared to others

if u dontwnat to worryabout maintenance, and ur on a budget.. CAmry is the top choice!!

but if she can afford it, the gs300 woudl be nice, toyota reliability with the extra luxury!

After owning my current BMW and having maintainance issues that have proven to be costly, I would go with a Lexus....Like the person before me said, you get luxury with Toyota reliability.........

I would stay with the lexus. If she cares about rear legroom suggest the GS. Also as mentioned before, you won't pay an arm for maintenance costs.

I chose the Other PS. Those cars, although relatively new, are said to be coming into their own. The cost to maintenance ratio is very appealing and the interior is very nice. They say the 2008 Other PS is going to come in a hatchback model if your Mom cares about that. Later, QD.

Yo, I seriously think your moms might actually like that new Camry, but only get the SE V6 model with the stiffer chassis and upgraded suspension. Those things not only look good, but drive great. If she's not an overly aggressive driver but need something that has overall frugal on the pockets, the Camry is the way to go. Besides, those things are fast as hell if she ever needed to get away from someone and still get at least 28mpg highway. There's space for full sized adults to move around. I think the Camry is an overall good choice. Think about this, with the other said cars, you're basicly paying for the name. If you buy a BMW, you're buying something that's not as roomy but very nice and drives like no other. But on the cost side, parts aren't cheap. That's my

yeah I have been pushing the Camry like no other, but she drove a camry for 10 years, took it to 270k miles before finally selling it for 1500 bucks.

she loved her camry, but she wants to experience another car, I told her the new camry is a completely different car

Aaaahhh, that's understandable. I think you should drag her to the dealer and make her sit inside one. I'm almost convinced that she'll love it. I hate to admit this, but the new Camry is one of my favorite new 4 doors. Especially in TRD armor, rims and all

First off how do we have a thread on Import Atlanta with the words "mom" and "pole" in the title and not have 9 million perverted comments.

Back to your moms pole. I think she should get the GS300 or a first generation Infinity M45.

    its Poll man, POLL

and it would be absolutely disrespectful to make any comments about my mom in a thread with a serious inquiry.

On a side note, thanks for your suggestion.

Yes yes, I love the way the new camerys look almost as much as how the IS looks.

Its a very nice toyota, in the past I have been disgusted by toyota styling, but I am really impressed with the new Camry.

Just wanted to let you guys know had my mechanic look at the car today.

everything check out fine, but it needs a brake job, and control arm bushing replacement.

Thats a about $1k worth of maintenance repairs.

pricey dicey maintenance like I said
