    Default Anyone know this EP3...

    ...located in Atlanta.

I am trying to get a hold of the seller, but based on what you guys see is this a good car? I looked at KBB and found that the Excellent value for the car is 11,500. I was going to offer 12K, is that way low?

Also, given that the car has a supercharger, should I be worried? I was planning to have a compression and leakdown test done, what are the numbers I should be looking for by the way? I am most worried about the SC. Any input you guys could give me would be most appreciated.

$12,000 is about average. That guy is asking a little much for the car IMO. The superchargers are really pretty bulletproof on those things, there are guys that have run 60-80k miles with them on their cars and not run into any iissues, all though being modified I would have it checked out by a mechanic, but in all he did was buy the jackson racing race kit and have it put on. the either k-pro or reflash [depending on which option he went with].

Also a few other things I would look for are the steering rack, the way the power steering is setup on the cars, the steering racks start to squeek. They still work fine, but just make noise and also the second gear grinds on some of them, it was a common thing and honda never did anything about it. On some of the earlier models, too, there were issues with premature cam wear.

EP's are fun little cars, and people are just now starting to catch on to them. I enjoyed the hell out of mine when I had it.

Also, you may want to check out http://www.ephatch.com and http://www.k-series.com

Can you clarify this comment? I am not sure exactly what you are getting at. My guess is that the supercharger is nothing to worry about if it all checks out with a mechanic, but can you please clarify? Thanks.

By the way, I will have the car checked out for the Honda stuff by a Honda specialist and also plan to have a Master Tech buddy do a compression and leakdown test.

Thanks for the help dude. Already a member of EPHatch and got great feedback on this car. I will check out K-Series. Thanks for the tip.

Yep, if you look in the boosted section of EPhatch, there's a list of some of those guys and just look at the mileages a lot of them have had them on their car. As long as there are no compression or headgasket issues, which there shouldn't be, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
