    Default Turbo Questions????

    hey guys get this my turbo seems to be smoking not real sure why.?.?.?.? i've searched IA already and didn't really find anything helpful... so maybe you buys can help me out... the common stuff that wud cause i've already check... changed oil, checked oil feed line.. etc... anything wud be helpful.. thanx guys

    have an intercooler setup? usually there will be oil/oil residue in the pipes/intercooler when you have blown seals/too much oil(IE wrong restrictor etc)

    what size feed line do u have - 3 or -4? if -4 ur turbo is ****ed

    almost make sure to check your drain line is draining fine

    Sounds like the seals are gone. I had this same issue on my WRX. Mine only smoked at idle and then mostly after a prolonged idle. The seals just went after 100k miles. Rebuild it yourself and save a little money. A decent rebuild kit for most rebuildable turbos is like $100. Most of the time you can find instructions online.

    yea it's not smoking while driving jus at idle.. where can i find a good rebuild kit... thanx...

    all the shops in the tech area can get you a rebuild kit or rebuild it for you

    seals are more than likely blown

    but

    are you running a restrictor? i have a .06 one if you want it...

    is your oil return able to gravity drain.. no low spots or kinks? also are you running a restrictor. any oil in your charge pipes?

    ok got another question.. got a guy that has a garret T3 and wants to trade me for my T3/T4.. he says mines is too big for my motor (B18A1)(DA TEG) .. what do you guys think??? lemme know!!!!

    It depends on the specs of the turbos.

    The CFM, A/R, and Trim all determine the spool up and air movement characteristics of a turbo..

    BTW, I'll let that rebuild kit go for $45, it's just sitting in my closet wasting space.

    Yeah it's a full kit, just PM me and we can set something up.
    There are DIYs on the internet. This is for a DSM but, try googling turbo rebuild or something similar.
