Hey I didnt know you had a corolla. Is it the 4age version or the 4ac? We have three mr2s, with 4ages in em, if you might be interested in purchasing one cheap.

Man what you really really need to do is, STOP

and get on other sites, and serch for your own information. because everything u here on here will be Bias, nonoe is gonna tell you to keep the sunfire, because noone knows potential of them, i dont myself. So if you want to know the answer... look up your own info, and see yourself. The sunfire itself is a decent platform, but you jsut got stuck with the one withthe 2.2 ohv motor, which isnt the better one. Now to aviod going out and buying another car that will lleave you stuck in the same position with a slow car that will require alot of money , and alot of knowledge . to get what u want out of it. You HAVE TO HAAAAAAVE To search yourself. honestly you arent gonna be any better power wise, with a Ex civic. i bet stock vs. stock ur sunfire owuld prob be faster...lol. Maybe you should stick with the sunfrie alil bt longer. The parts are out ther for the car but i dont think yoru willing to do the work to find and or get the parts. The same amou
nt of money it will take you to get the civic to where u want it, the sunfire would probrably require the same. There is another whole world of other compacts that ppl dont know about or dont care to tune.. but will perform just as well if not better than the fan favorite honda civic.

if i was you i wouldnt have gotten a non GT sunfire in the first place...lol, if you would have researched and read up on the car, you owuld have atleast got a sunfire gt with the ecotec!

Hey, hey, That's not entirely true. As long as you avoid the atx, they are very reliable. I've owned 4 626's (all 5 speeds, 1 V6) and as long as you keep up on the maintenence, they're great cars. I'm daring to say my car is as reliable, if not more reliable than any car on these forums. Most mazdas don't have CV axle problems(which btw my factory CV axles have been known to power cars with in excess of 500 whp with no problem), or price inflation problems when it comes to getting parts due to demand. So what I'm on trans #3 but that's because of a bent shift fork on the first, busted transmission housing on the second which took out 5th gear due to the fluid leaking out (which there is a fix for that, they make a brace). So at least if you're gonna make a statement, at least state an actual fact, not an opinion

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

Yeah, i've done a little bit of research. I've found j-body.org, and streetvisioncc.com, and a few other sites....And, its possible to get my sunfire into a range between 12 - 14 seconds, depending on how i do it. In order to get THAT though, i have to run a boosted Ecotec. But, what I would like to do, to be a little different, is build a non-Eco engine, with an auto tranny, thats still somewhat quick.

And, as far as me ''choosing'' the car, I didnt really get a chance to pick or whatever. This car just fell into my lap for $500, and i NEEDED it to immediately replace the dwindling 'rolla as my DD.

well making 12-14sec automatic car is gonna take alot of money, especially since your in the negative with the non ecotec....lol.

i know abotu the fall into cars, my frist car was a ford escort lx automatic 1.9l 88hp BEAST! , my mom bought it as my first car. Great for waht it was, which was transportaion. i eventually got rid of it, and got a protege with a more tunable motor.. Might be time for u to do the same!

    civic might be for u!

Actually, i personally dont care about makin a car that gets in the 12 - 14 sec range....I'm just lookin for a range of horsepower. THAT range is between 200 to 250HP. Right now, its at ~120 - 130.

I think thats all i'll be able to handle for quite some time...

Get rid of the Sunfire, but don't jump on the civic either. I used to have an EJ1 and it was an awesome car, but with hondas I got tired of it being slow (torque-less), and everything is just so played out. It handled really good though with an ITR rear sway bar.

Now I switched to Volkswagens, and honestly I'm loving it. So look around before you get the civic.

Hahhh...a little more research...If i were to do an engine swap, rebuild the engine, do nitrous and turbo, and tuning...i could get UP TO 800HP out of my car...

I'm thinkin, if i DONT do the Ecotec swap, im just gonna guess that since the 2200 engine and the 2.2 Eco engine are really similar, That i could get possibly somewhere around 500HP. (if i rebuild the engine...)

HAH-- based on that article...im keepin the sunfire..I'm just gonna boost it, and see what it'll do.

Apparently, I can keep basically all of my stock engine parts, up to ~280HP. Thats PERFECT. I only want ~250 MAX...

A lot more than with the sunfire, seriously. Get a 5spd and it'll be pretty fun with plenty of available parts to make it faster/more fun. Or spend a little more for a 94ish GSR and have more fun.
