Im using a Cobb AccessPORT(EM). Which sets my boost right at 16.5psi. No need for a boost controller for me, so which means im using an electronic boost controler (AVCR or others).

The ap is still using the ECU to control your boost. It just modifies your parameters in the ECU.

manual for now (bleeder valve), electronic (profec b spec 2) when i change my setup using an external wastegate.

i've tuned a couple cars using the aem trueboost and actually like it. it's pretty user friendly once you work your way through the manual. like most boost controllers the manuals suck!!

I'm running the stock ECU. But with how it fluctuates, sometimes I can be pushing up to ~9psi at a factory tuned ~7psi. Oh well, I guess 1988 is a long way from today.

I plan on using one of those EBay boost controllers for a little while. It can't hurt, I've got another car to drive and another motor waiting on the stand as it is. TURN UP DA BOOST!!11!!111!

We run the Innovative boost controller, Its the easiest on the market to set up.

Basically u set up each stage, You have a total of 6 stages, Launch and 1-5
too setup the stages you just go too the stage you want and you hit the desired boost for that gear.

Each time you push the clutch in while racing it will go thru all 5 stages.

Or you can get the s300 and use the boostcontroller option, all you ahve to do is add a boost solenoied, and then play with the percentages, but you have to do at the track or on the dyno.

curious why you didnt get the pressure sensor for the emanage so it could double as a boost controller?

adapted a saab boost controller to my car for a bit with solenoid. that worked well for awhile, but then went to a larger turbo and wanted more accuracy.

Manual boost controllers work well, but lack flexibility.

Went with a manumatic boost controller for awhile, that consisted of a pair of solenoids wired to a toggle switch in the cabin hooked up to a pair of MBCs in series. With both solenoids closed, the car works purely off the wastegate giving a stock boost of 7psi. When you open the first solenoid, boost diverts into the primary MBC, raising pressure to 13psi. Open the second solenoid and boost routs again through a second MBC set to 18psi. That worked for awhile, but was rather bulky and sometimes tempermental.

Finally working on using the standalone to manage boost. it allows for boost based on throttle input, gain control etc. As soon as the wastegate is all plumbed, I'll wire that in.
    My car is factory....

Every single performance part and or modification it has was made in a factory somewhere.

it all depends what you are going to use it for. i personally have no use to change boost levels inside the cabin. the only times i change it is when i go to the track. since my wastegate is a boost controller too, all i have to do is change vacuum ports and changes my boost level. it literally takes 5 seconds to go from 15 psi to 22psi. for those who street race a lot and need to up the boost on the fly, and ebc is ideal

running open wastegate means he has no dumptube. doesnt really make sense in this post, but it doesnt mean the wastegate is open all the time
