Whatever fits good on your car =]
205 40 17
Most popular 17" size ever
Leisa and S. 4 Life NM?
I would say your tire needs to be at least 17" in diameter.
^ too thin, go with 215 40.. if i ever had a honda again i would stuff some 235 under there just so it looks mean... cuz we all know hondas arent.. lol
225/40/17![]()
Guarantee that he's going solely for looks!
225 will be slightly bulky because he's most likely gonna run a 17X7 wheel
215 is ok should line right up
but the 205 creates a slight inward angle that just looks 'sharp'

im somewhat goin for looks but at the same time i have a future intention of going for go as well, but yes, i just want them decent good size but not too big

p.s
regarding the quote "get the size that fits the wheels you get"
that's like saying "get the wheels that fit your car"
Very broad statement!
Leisa and S. 4 Life NM?
What you say makes zero sense at all. How is saying get the ones that fitt he car broad? Wheels? Will a 0 offset fit? No it won't. Can't get that. Will a +47 fit. Probably. Now look at diameter and the width. Figure out what fits. That is how you pick out a wheel. Looks are LAST... Unfortunately more people don't go with this and have ill fitting wheels for other models and makes and it looks and fits like ****. Tires 2 inches outside the fender or 2 inches inside the fender. But damn they sure do "look cool".Originally Posted by Kevykev

You pick a tire based on the wheel and clearance. If it is a 15x7 wheel on a civic well it pretty much narrows dow the choices to 15" tires. No more than a 225" width and no less than a 205. Since it is going to be low pro and probably an oversized wheel you probably would want something in the range of 40-50 aspect ratio.
Pretty simply stuff.

*One last example because i don't feel like wasting time on this -(maybe I already have)
'Wheels that fit' (broad statement) - hundreds of wheels that will simply "fit" an Acura Integra and enable someone to use on an integra without issues.
Tires that fit a 17 inch wheel- 205 215 225 235 etc. still broad when you start considering option. 40 45 50 55 series etc.
How does making a broad statement bring someone closer to making an educated decision? It doesn't!!!
DinanM3- Read properly before attempting anything!![]()
Maybe one last example?
Question "What color should I get?"
Answer "One that you like a lot!!!"
*nothing against the people that actually made the broad statements - it happens
Leisa and S. 4 Life NM?
WTF?
You would get the color that you like a lot. Would you ask the forum what color to get? WTF?
Ok... Will a 4x100 bolt pattern, 17" wheel with an offset of -50? No it ****ing won't. There are correct ranges of offset and widths that fit. Your stupid ass reply shows it...
It seems on this forum if it has the right bolt pattern it fits... Sorry but there are real fitment issues.... Just because it bolts up doesn't mean it fits.

You actually formulated a question that no one in here posted (on your own) AND answered your OWN question (with an attitude?)
Do you know how funny and ridiculous that is?![]()
That just implants an image in my head of some clown arguing with the computer screen. I mean..who are you arguing with? Can't be me? I'm over here responding in a calm manner.
You're clearly not a smart person because you supplied usable information but applied it to the wrong scenario.
I know your personality type now and you're only good for laughs as in not "Laughing with" but "laughing at."
You clearly had a problem with me saying that 205/40/17 was the most popular size ever-you took that statement literally Because you clearly endorse 225/40/17 and lose money every time someone purchases a 205/40/17 (only explanation I have for your lack of reasoning in this thread), that's where you failed as a human being.![]()
I'll leave you with this right now though:
This was the original question
"whats a good tire size for 17's on a teg?"
I said:
205/40/17, not 205/40 - 225/40 - 215/45 -225/45 because guess what that would do??? Raise more questions!!!
He wanted a good size - i gave him a good size.
That's when your stupidity directed you to post!
pretty simple stuff indeed![]()
Leisa and S. 4 Life NM?
Yah damn me I am so stupid... It think my experience building the Finley Motorsport E46 M3 at Fall-Line Motorsports, or building Dinan S3 M5s at Performing Imports taught me nothing. Damn I should just quite huh?
He said what 17" tire is good for my 17" wheel...I have rear 17x9 wheels, what is to say he didn't go for 17x8 which a 205 will not be good for. There is more to wheel/tire fitment. You are arguing that 205.40.17 is just the "teh tire for 17" wheels" which is stupid. He didn't post any relative information that would help pick out a proper sized tire. End of the story.
Hey. I have a M3 and getting 18" wheels. What size tire should I get?

If you can show me where i said that 205/40s where THE size for 17's i will give you the argumentIt was all about the integra, the Integra THE INTEGRA - that's right where you missed my point. You just took the topic to a whole new level.
It's great that you take pride in your knowledge and accomplishments. Continue to do so, it's a great thing - just work on your timing with it.![]()

Whatever.
Moral of the story is if you have an integra and get 17" wheels... Buy 205.40.17in Tires.

There is no other 17" tire closer to the stock Honda/Acura outside diameter than 205/40-17 and it is the most popular sub-compact 17" tire.
If the car is lowered then 205/40-17 is the only tire that will fit properly with the normal +38 Honda offset (other than 195/45-17 but that would be retarded).
If you were to put a 215mm wide 17" tire on a Honda then it would need to have a 35 profile to fit...find me a decent 215/35-17 tire![]()
You can't get a better offset wheel and run a 225?

225 will stick out like a circle track car no matter what the offset isOriginally Posted by DinanM3atl
215 is an ideal width for performance but you need a stiff enough suspension to keep it from hitting the fenders, offset to keep it off the suspension, and high enough to keep it from rubbing the inner fender well.
For a 15" wheel 205/50-15 or 215/45-15
For a 16" wheel 205/45-16 or 215/40-16
For a 17" wheel 205/40-17 or 215/35-17
But a 215 won't? That makes no sense. It is 10mm.... Hardly a huge deal... Change the offset and you are good to go
Guess I am not used to Front Drive or these JDM body styles that you can't fit any meat
My stock front size is 225.45.17 and with a different offset or rear wheels on the front you can easily run 245 and with careful measuring and the proper wheel and just a tick of extra camber you can fit 255s in the front. People have up to 265 or 275s in the rear with just fender rolling...
