im not too sure. i've never had experience with falken, but i have never heard anything bad about falkens. but i tend to like the tread pattern on falkens more than kumho

    From what i know: Kumho

    From what i want: Falkens

Those are like two completely different ends of the spectrum IMO. Falken all the way.

i have the falken 512s, they are ok, definitely not as good as the kumho SPTs. I never tried the ASTs. Unless I was going with the RT615s, I would always go kumho.

Back in 1999-2000, I did SCCA on Kumho 710(712 now) and won the championship on them and only used one set the whole year. And this was also my daily driven car. Later, QD.

Falken 512's. Very soft compound tire, and wears away quick... I won't get it again.. I say Kumho.

I have had three sets of 512's on 2 cars and for the money i have not found much better for driving daily. what car is it going on and what are you planning on doing? I would also suggest looking at the nitto neo gens.

I've had both. I preferred the Falkens. With the same width and aspect ratio, the 512's just had better "road feel." I'm now on Yokohama AVS ES100s and love them.

I've had both, and I personally prefer the falkens. I know this isn't saying much, but I worked at a tire wholesaler for a while, and we sold probably 10x as many ZE512 as Ecsta's. I've got a set of Yokohama-made 205/70/15s I'll sell ya for cheap./shameless plug

Just my GA with no mods and none planned. And no to the Nitto as I am working with a budget.

As far as I know, that won't fit on a 16" rim. Later, QD.

    they arent THAT expensive... ~$70/tire.
and they have SO much more grip.

but bridgestone has the fastest street tire out right now with the re01-r

I've driven a little on Falken's, and I have 2 Ecsta AST's on my car right now.

I'd honestly go with the Falken's.

Kumho's are more budget friendly for the feel and performance.

Should have broadened your horizons and looked into Federal 695 Super Steel. It's cheaper, same touring **** that wont have any real grip, and its cheap!

I have Kuhmo Ecsta's on my car right now and I love them. My only complaint is they are not very progressive when they lose traction at the limit (which is pretty F-ing high). But, I am also running a staggered tire size so my assesment may not be fair one. Could be more my set-up than the tire.

I'm not sure if that would affect it, but it could be. I went with Hankook for the price and since I didn't need a "racing" type tire on my daily cruiser. They are VR rated and have a " Treadwear/Temperature/Traction" rating of "340/A/A." So for $400 even(including all fees), I think I got a fairly good deal. And they ride great, too. I have zero road noise and the ride is smooth. Later, QD.
