    Default Limited turbo build

So people on a lilited turbo build.prolly around 1500$..would buying an ebay kit with Cast iron manifold,BOV,wastegate, stainless steal DP and everything but upgrade to a garrett or turbonetics be fine? get the kit for about 600$ and a garrett t3/t4 for about $500or less
will a knock off BOV and waste gate be acceptable for a few months? till enough $ for hks/tial?

i kno u get what u pay for,but keep inmind changing to a REAL turbo, other parts decent? IC piping is just piping correct?

this is my plan..just buy the parts and put together my own kit so i can get everything id like. itl take a while but worth it.i hope
so heres what i have planed. sorry if typing bores u.
    • Garrett T04B33
    • treadstone cast manifold( i really want to make a custom Ramhorn tho!)
    • V-band type downpipe prolly 2.5' to match exhaust
    • No name Intercooler with black poweder coated piping
    • HKS SSQV BOV
    • Tial or OBX 38mm wastegate
    • SS oil line,return kit
    • 450cc injectors and resistor box
    • glow shift(ebay) boost,oil,ect-gagues A pillar 3 pod
    • p28 with either Hondata s300 or anything i can get
    • skunk2 OBD2-OBD1 wire harness
    • OEM oil pan so just incase i sumthn goes wrong.
    • any electronic boost controller i can get, prolly Apexi Avc-r
    • forgetting anything?
doing all the work in the garage, welding, fab work anything i run into. then take it to get tuned.

any1 have any experince at freshly boosting a car, and 1st crank up? will it run good enough to make it to the shop?

If you can't afford the parts you want, just wait a few months to do it all. Don't compromise the integrity of your engine because you want it on right now.

if you are not ready to spend at least $3k then dont bother doing it at all. you gotta pay to play. sure you could hack job it and make a little power for $1500 but in no time you will be dropping even more money to rebuild your busted motor. just do it right the first time...not the second or third time. save your money get a good quality kit, get good tuning, and enjoy your completely reliable 250whp car on 7psi

if you take the W/G spring out itl run good enough to get to the shop it wont make boost soo basicly be N/A when you first start it you want to make sure your geting oil to the turbo though the way i did it was take the return oil line off hold the turbin wheel and start the car let it run till oil comes out the return line then shut off reasemble

    • oh and 255 fuelpump!

so itl basically just b running thru the turbo but not producing any boost? so itl just b normal taking the spring out?

the thread i have to do the boost says pull the sparkplug wires and roll it over a few times to get the oil to it.

boost does not kill the motor...heat does, heat can be generated with out boost. or even worse what if he is running hella rich and washes the cyl walls? ive done a couple turbo cars over the years and im telling you to drive it directly to a trailer and go get tuned. dont do some backyard bull****

you should get a base map to crank the car up then drive it directly to a trailer and tow it to a tuner. i drove for a long time on a base map in my last set-up and had no probs at all. i have had freinds drive for one day and blow there **** up on a base map. be safe and go get tuned dont drive untill its tuned. and like i said above...if you are not ready to spend at least $3k, most likely more, then just forget about it

yea i definatly wouldnt drive it too far i had my ecu chiped and had a base map but the car ran like $h!t wouldnt even pull up on a trailer and i wasnt thinking that if you put the bigger inj. in its not going to run worth a crap anyway till you get it tuned soo yea just put it on a trailer be safe 5 miles or not jap4 is right

i just did what you are planning to about 2 months ago.

1 dont go cheap on your parts if you want it to last.
2 make sure you get it tuned
3 have everything you need before you start anything
4 if you need help ask
5 i can give you a hand if you need it

other than that is seems you are headed in the right direction.
    About to approach beast mode
