Default Color Matchin IC pipes or nay?

my IC pipes came to me grey (yuck) so I painted them red and after doing a ****ty job i re-did them in black. I was going for an ALL black underhood image (my TB is black, i painted all my brackets black, EGR black, etc...) But noticing most the cars in the mags have colored pipes im wondering if I should change....

I like my black pipes but they need to be redone with a higher grit sand paper. But, would red pipes look better?

Im not sure how some get that "crinkled" powerdcoat finish but that would look sick in red.

I'm with Nemesis, crinkle red finish would be hot. You can buy it just about anywhere in a spray can. Anything would look better than mine. Some of it's GReddy factory black, some of it's bare mandrel bent pipe.

this is a piece from a perrin performance kit, but it gets the point across

edit, they have red as well, but it's a little lighter colored.

They have that textured paint at Wal-Mart and places like that. Just look at it and its usually for doing metal benches and stuff like that.

I say do it gloss red though

red! no question about it. my buddy down here did his WRX's pipes kinda funny.... for the cold side he had little snowflakes and ice cubes painted on, and on the hot side he had flames done the whole way down... it looks pretty cool. but if you do PC i would definately go with crinkle red (it looks like OEM ITR VC's)

Crinkle red is like on STI intake manifolds. A lot of afermarket subaru intakes and ICs are offered in crinkle red so that everything under the hood matches. Personally I like the black pipes but colored pipes do attract more attention if you're looking for a hot car or mag worthy car.

same ol same ol is usually chrome. but that also looks the nicest. i really like the crinkled look but it might clash with the rest of the red on my beater

well, you would have to do it in 2 layers. paint them gloss red first, then put something on them for whatever pattern you want and spray black. it wouldnt be too hard if you could find some stickers or something with that pattern.
