the key ingredient here is the specs on the hot side.
    trim, and clearance.
the trade off for tighter clearance (A/R ratio) is, faster spool time, but less maximum potential horsepower.
and the same can be said for trim, lower the number, the faster the overall spool because of less rotational inertia, but the less maximum potential.

Yeah thats what i thought. I love the big one and late spool for daily, but on the dragstrip i want faster spool. I think i will take a smaller turbo and change it out and try both mine and a smaller one.

Don't get anything too small. A T3 60 trim is a good match for the stock single cams. Good spool up, mid 3000 range, and still hold till redline.

A little lag for drag racing can be nice though. Too fast a spool and you're gonna be having traction problems at the start. A spool time of 4400 isn't that bad for drag racing, after 1st gear you will never be below that anyways. People normally want a faster spool for daily driving, since most daily driving is done below 4000 rpm and a fast spool means less down shifting.

I think the first thing you should do is go get your car tuned before dropping money into another turbo though. You'd probably see a drop in spool time, not to mention more power, from a good tune. Just a thought.
Looking for a shop that does quality work??
