which is more reliable a supercharger or a turbo? which is easier on a engine? i know you need a good tune with both but i was just wondering why more people dont use superchargers.

if you're talking jrsc the turbo is better because you can run a fmic and cool the intake charge. the jrsc bolts directly to the intake and the only intercooler you can do is water injection. also, a jrsc is it's most efficient between 6 and 10psi. you start trying to spin a jrsc to 15psi and you're blowing a lot of hot air.
comptech or vortech superchargers (turbo on a stick) can be intercooled and are not a bad way, but more complex than a turbo and not as easily modified if you want quicker spool or a different configuration.

both are reliable as long as you INSTALL it correctly and have it tuned by a pro who knows what he is doing.
as far as more people using turbo against SC, thats all preference.
just make sure you know what your motor is capable of before you push it.
omg...y dont u read the other thread exactly like this.
a turbo is less stress on the motor. Your using exhaust gases your car already makes. The Supercharger is always been used and is constant stress on the motor. Have an S/C is like running with the a/c all the time..but a little more resistance. Also u can't turn the boost down with a S/C.
i'm runnin the same psi as other owners using turbos and making a little bit less HP than them.
The reason i chose S/C over turbo, i didnt want all the oil lines and shiot. You really need to change the oil regularly with a turbo. Dont want to clog up the lines. I've been on 15psi w/ my s/c and I've had a few problems but warranty has taken car of most. (minor leaks, belts, etc..) if u burn up a turbo, i dont think they will cover it as easily
