are both cars completely stock with the same wheels and tires? if so that comparison might not be 100% exact.Originally Posted by FoolsDrifFWD

coupe >> hatch.
coupe, easily.
][STREETLOVE][
I want the coupe, because i want to do the s13.4.
If you have the coupe, stick with it.
The coupes look the best! IMO.

coupe love baby....all the way!!!!
i'll say the hatch....
Just get both. This solve the problem. When I had a hatch, I wanted a coupe. When I get the coupe, I wanted the hatch back. Now I own a S14, and I wanted a S13 back...
I would say coupe cause they take care of the exhaust noise a bit better.
Coupe for looks,
Hatch for practicality.
You cant fit anything in a coupe, seriously. I can haul just about anything I need to in my hatch.

Do you perhaps mean the comparison would not be 100% exact if they were NOT both stock with the same wheels?Originally Posted by mikespeed95
Wheels would not contribute to more than 50lbs of lightening on a 4-point scale, I have never seen wheels on a car that weighed as much as to make new wheels reduce the weight as much as you're implying. Also, if you put wheels on one, you put wheels on the other to keep the comparison the same, the difference decreases dramatically. The coupe is lighter because of the support for the back hatch. There is a significant amount of frame around where the hatch drops and along the rail to hold it up. The hatch itself is also quite heavy, starting with doubling the weight of the glass of a coupe's back end. It's similar to the idea of why a convertible weighs more than it's non-convertible version. Despite the fact that there's some material removed, the material added to reinforce the area neccessarily will weigh much more than the original material itself did. The exceptions are of course cross-framed Roadsters such as the Miata and S2k.
The Hatch does indeed weigh more in similar configurations than the coupe, but the difference is not enough to make a decision soley on it. I personally prefer the coupe because I would want to do an S13 front end and an SR swap. YMMV but if you're really having a hard time deciding you may be best off to try and find a way to have one of each. Wish I had the space to store two.
i drive a hatch so im with the hatch group!
coupe for sure.
SO much better looking.
well if your keeping the oem usdm front end hatch all the way! But with a s13 front end coupe all the way! I love the s13 front end but i would never put it on my hatch b/c IMHO it doesnt look right and is ugly. But too me a clean usdm front hatch with some sick wheels and kouki tail lights out does a s13 front coupe any day! I will be looking for a coupe sometime soon to DD and do the s13 front.
I do rb20 and rb25 wiring into s13 and s14's 300.00 shipped 24hr turn around turn ket start guaranteed! PM me for more details!
Except a coupe set up the same way! HahahahaOriginally Posted by Jecht

CRX daily... Gas prices suck, i love my HF
I'm a coupe person with all cars (although the trunk on a convertible Rx-7 is hideous next to a hardtop hatch so a true coupe in my body style might actually suck a bit). I say coupe easily.
^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle
no such thing as a hardtop miata/s2k.Originally Posted by Kaiser

PLus i think the reason is that coupes dont look that fast, but when someone fast gets beat by a slow looking coupe...it just makes me wanna goto the owner.lol. U know what I mean...lol
I think it's more a matter of the profile of the car. The hatch looks right with the pop ups because the car is filled with curves, the coupe better w/ the Silvia front end because the lines on it are all angular. I'm a coupe fan myself.
um yea hatch all the way

TOO BIG
coupe...they look cleaner than the hatch and with less problem...
Ive driven both, and ridden in both, the hatch was always a little bit more fun
