Worst/Best sounding cars

I searched and there has been a thread similar to this about Best sounding cars alone, but what I'm wondering, what about the bad sounding ones also?
Personally I think probably higher than 90% of Hondas, (especially civics) can sound pretty damn awful, I was driving behind an Integra the other day that honestly sounded dead on like a weed-eater, like.. DEAD ON, no exageration at all. As for best, I'm not really sure, some Porsches are pretty damn hot sounding.

Ferrari always makes me happy, so do rotary race cars.

Porsches also sound mean, especially with straight pipes

once a civic gets faster than 13 seconds its just plain annoying! so damn loud but not a good loud.

I personally think that an STI with a good turbo back exhaust sounds the best

It's not just the car/engine but the exhaust too -- my Integra doesn't sounds like anyone elses around and i wouldn't consider it a weedeater...

Yeah, thats what I'm saying. For example - a dead stock WRX sounds ok and all, but with a nice full exhaust.. DAMN they can sound hot as hell.

And something HAD to be fucked up with that teg, I mean it was BAAAAD.

probably a cast header, cat, and no resonator or muffler with a tip...not to mention the exhaust leaks along the way

Aside from turbo porsche's, some M3's, and maybe supra's, I think my car is the best sounding 6 banger i've heard.

I have to say that the best sounding 4 banger has to be (with a good exhaust) is the Honda K series i-VTEC.

I have a mix of cars/engines that sound good as far as aftermarket exhaust notes go for the 6 cylinders. I've always loved the Snarl of the VW Vr6. I've also loved the sound the K series Mazda V6 best, especially after 7k rpm. BMW's are ok, I like the vr6 exhaust note better. Porsches are just insane. Honda makes great engines, I think the NSX V6 could've sounded better. And Another exhaust note that gets forgotten, the Hyundai 2.7L V6 (tiburon)

V8's, SBC's with a borla or magnaflow, Any Ferarri V8, And that BMW M5....... Damn, I just got chill bumps......

most civic/ricers - kazoos gone WAY too loud

i like raspy exhausts IE some bmws.

My opinion on loud exhausts - only use when they are actually needed.

I like good sounding mustangs... sorry... not an import I understand this.

not because i have one or cause like em but mustangs do sound badass with a good system setup,supras sound badass also,as far as hondas go,i love the way preludes sound.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the worst. Even with the best exhaust available, I think a D17 Honda and GM 2.2L ohv (S10, cavalier and Sunfire engine) is among the worst sounding 4's.

The Dodge Truck V6's are among the worst

Chevy 6.2L Diesel V8 FTL

worst: ricey civics with 4" coffee cans but the worst is a 4-cyd truck with straight pipes...

As for cheaper cars I think boxer engines sound really good. R32's sound pretty good as well.

best- STI with any kind of turbo-back, a modded supra, mx-6 V6 with an aftermarket exhaust, M3 with an aftermarkert exhaust

Supra sound really good, so do mustangs. Vettes sound good with the titanium exhaust.

it just depends on the exhaust, remember mine didnt sound anything like a honda. But your evo was fast so no one could make fun of the way it sounded.

oh man, there is no sweeter sound than a 1st gen w/ a built 13b and straight pipe out the right side during a 13 hour race at VIR...I am so glad it crashed or blew up or something....lap after lap, hour after hour -- makes you want to run out in front of the biggest & fastest car and put yourself out of your misery

Blackshine's 626 sounded awesome...nice and metallic, almost like an M3.

There's a blue E60 M5 that I've seen in the Atlanta/Buckhead area that sounds AMAZING. It has some sort of aftermarket exhaust...it's great.

I love GM's LS-series engines...well, lots of V8's for that matter. The SVT Cobra's sounds great especially with the supercharger. Even Volvo's new V8 engines sound great. I also like the FX45's V8 note.

Anyone ever heard the new Eclipse V6s? Very nice. Also can't forget the Subaru boxer engines.

My SAAB on the other hand doesn't sound so great. It sounds nice from the exhaust pipe, but from the cabin, it sounds like an angry vacuum cleaner. The turbocharger is the only saving grace. That thing SHRIEKS.

I also like turbo diesel engines...those always sound cool.

Japanese - STi/WRX (I know I'm biased, but a boxer engine + unequal length headers = sex).

European - Ferrari, really any of them.

American - Any old school carbureted v8 with a nice free flowing exhaust

Best - tie between Carrera GT, Zonda F, Ferrari F355

Worst - Dodge Viper, BMW M3 (E46), any rotary with an open exhaust
