to tell you the truth, i don't know much about em but i know i've heard one come by me at idle one day and it sounded awesome the way it was loping...possibly factory cams? don't own one and never researched...my bad.

Haha, but yea...that engine is terrible. All thrashy and raspy...sounds asthmatic.

I sorta like how some tuned old Beetles sound though.

I like the factory sounds of the G35 and 350z.

The best sounding combo to me would be a BMW M5 with Supersprint headers and Eisenmann exhaust......

Set off an alarm just by rolling past the car. That BOV is loud as hell too...I heard it from my car when I was two or three car lengths behind him with my windows up.

My civic with a test pipe and straight exhaust was ear piercing, gut wrenching poo.

Best sounding affordable car to me is the 350Z or G35......or FX35......or Murano, anything with the VQ35 engine, sounds wonderful.

Best sounding rediculous car is the Porche Carrera GT. OMFG

Best sounds: supra TT with kickass BOV, and my honda(sounds soo mean)

Worst sounds: Other hondas, and rice burners. rotarys with straight pipes/no cats or presilencers.
and 4banger trucks that sound like rice burners and try to go mudding!!(gotta love the rednecks at my school)

The idles are similar, but I like the way the 20B sounds better. The car in the vid I posted has a 13G.

The main difference between the 13G and 20B is that the 13G uses a factory peripheral intake port (used for racing) and the 20B uses side intake ports.

I wouldn't exactly say that. Hear one in person. I"ve heard black(sun)shine's in person and I can admit, it is one of the better sounding motors. Reminds me a bit of a faster revving VQ engine

Obviously you have to consider modifications but based on BPU i would say:

As far as 'easily' attainable vehicles.

Mustangs are known to have an unmatched exhaust sound - GT, Cobras etc.

Hondas are known to have a bad rep. when it comes to exhaust notes lol. The sound the engine produces while "in VTEC" is great.

VQ powered Nissans sound great as well.
