I'm having a hard time finding someone that re-drill rotors. Anyone know any shops in clayton county that re-drill's rotors?
I need to drill some 5-lug rotors to 4 x 114.

if they are factory rotors it may be cheaper to just buy new ones

I'm not "half-assing". The rotors are made for 5-lug, Im 4-lug. Doing a brake conversion.Originally Posted by SL65AMG
Anyway, I decided to just get some oem replacement blanks and call it a day with SS brake lines + ceramic pads. I'll do the conversion down the road.

many places wont even touch something like that cause the lug holes will overlap. Its not safe to do it, so you will prolly end up spending some cash for new ones. If you're doing a swap, why not just get new rotors and pads anyway?
lol...Everyone is missing the point:
My hubs are 4-lug. The conversion that Im doing uses a 5-lug rotor. Therefore, I need the 5-lug rotors redrilled to 4-lug, new or not.

lol, why do people keep saying that, it's a CONVERSION which means from a DIFFERENT car...meaning a DIFFERENT rotor that may or may not fit without modificationOriginally Posted by w3bcod3r

this is done all the time for the s13 and s14 4 lug cars so they can do the 300zx big brake conversion without upgrading to 5lug, perfectly safe if drilled correctly.... this has been done thousands of times before...sorry dont know of any places that do this...just trying to set some people's shit straight before they speak
Just need a rotor with the same lug pattern, spot weld or clamp them together making sure they are centered perfectly, then drill it out with a drill press. Pretty simple.Originally Posted by Krappy

Do it yourself... Just not a lot of shops are willing to do so as if your car has braking problem, they get blame for that. That's why they do not do it for you. This is America for you...
I have a set of 300zx front brake disc redrilled for 4 lug. If the disc is the same width, you can use mine to line up yours for drilling.
Yeah, I'm going to buy one q45 rotor and a spare 240sx rotor, stack them on top of each other, put a 1/2 bolt through the 1 matching hole, and drill it myself.Originally Posted by chituntang
EDIT: Thanks a lot for the offer though, I appreciate it.

I know you wanted to do the same thing, but this is kind of off the topic. But what kind of upgrade you are looking for? For a 240sx, brake upgrade can be from J30, Q45, Z32, GTR, brembo. That is from the lowest to the highest. We are only talking about brakes coming from the Nissan cars because the mounting point and bolt size for the brake calipers are the same (do not know about brembo though. At least the bolt size is bigger). So an upgrade is as easy as just caliper, brake disc, and brake lines. For hondas, I have only seen and heard less. Using NSX brakes, EK (do not know if SIR or Type R), and EG rear brake disc conversion. So unless you are going big buck with Spoon or Brembo, I do not think you are going to get big stopping power.Originally Posted by CIVIC BOI
