Default Silver 96 ex coupe suggestions on how to trim it.

Ok I have a 1996 EK coupe, still a shell but getting a b18b1 put in.

Its got ok paint on it right now, but I am probably going to get it sprayed next sometime this year to finish it off, when I do I am going to trim it with a front lip and a rear lip and potentail some sort of aftemarket side skirts, probably gonna leave the skirts stock though.

What I wanna know is will Black skirts, and black lips with black side trim look any good? or should it all be sliver?

Secondly if I am going with 17inch wheels how far should I drop it?
This is going to be a DD, so I do not want nothing major I am not a fan of slaming and riding on the ground, I was thinking of maybe a 1.5-1.8 inch drop maybe that way I wont have to get a camber kit for it align right.

    What do yall think?

    1) There has never and will never be an EK from the US.

    2) This is what silver with black lips and sideskirts look like...

yeah the black on silver looks whack. Plus the CF hood, and the Euro tag throw everything off.

    blah ugly.

If the 96-01 civic coupes are not called EK why does everyone refer to them as that?
What exactly is an EK since it never made it to the states?

You can work with silver and black if that's what you have. Here's my old ITR hatch with stock side skirts and side moldings...

Hatch looks good, I am lookin at the same get up, but with black lips as well.

I get a better picture from the SiR sedan, I mean I could always give it a shot, and if I dont like it spray em.

Same reason the alternative front end for the integra is called "JDM Type-R" but it aslo came SIR-G and at least one other model (only differance was the blacked out headlights on the ITR)...people just don't know any better.

The EK is only in Asia/Europe.

    ^^^ What he said.

Also, got with some 15's or 16's for the car. With 17's, your gonna be on some thin ass tires and the ride quality will got to shit. I tried it and didn't like it at all. But, to each his own.

Im gonna keep the 96 Front end. I am trying to keep it plain, with a very simple paint scheme, I could paint it all sliver but that last hatch with the black trim did not look that bad at all. Same Style front end as mine. All that I am changing is Headlights and the grill.

About the 17s, I just got them at a good price, I could potentially sell them and buy some smaller wheels.

Anyone has any suggestion on some good 16s at least, I like blades but wouldnt pay too much for them. Si wheels while I like them , dont want them.

I do like the wheels this fellow has.

There's a set of 16" gold Spun wheels in the for sale section, if you don't mind cheaper one i'd put in the same category as Rota

For that EJ8, Id say paint the factory side skirts, and paint the lips unless you get carbon fiber ones. It'll look right all painted and purdy but if you keep those peices black you might still wonder if they'd look better painted. Keep it clean and classy, apply paint. My two cents.

Where can I score some of that Bumper molding? Is that an atachment to the stock bumper or do you need another bumper for that?

Do I need the whole front end? Judging from the headlights I take it its not going to line up correctly with the 96-98 front end.

No you don't, and yes it will line up with the 96-98 front end. You can purchase the bumper alone new for around 350. The only difference are the moldings and jdm-ness about it.

There's no SiR rear bumper for the coupe. But you could always fab your own.
