Thread: wheel polishing question?!!

    Ive done a few sets of wheels before. What you need to do is dismount the tire from the wheel and spray the ENTIRE wheel with clear coat. Are you stripping the bronze off the wheel or just polishing the lip? As soon as you start sanding on metal, you expose it to moisture in the air. thats why you need a layer of clear on it

    Yeah, he's stripping the bronze and then polishing the whole thing...and he wants to know if he's going to have to repolish or reclear the lip since it got hit by the paint stripper.

    yes you are correct
    im pretty sure im just gonna have to repolish the lip but i will wait and see how much different my polish and the stock polish looks
    but id still like to know how many people put clear coat on the wheel when your done polishing?

    I don't think you actually put clear on the wheels when you're done polishing. I think you just the Aluminum polish and polish the hell out of it to make it shiny and that keeps it from moisture or whatever.
