    Default shop or someones garage

i need rear shocks on my 96 maxima. every place i have talked to said it would be around 150-200 for the shocks, and 200 or so for the labor. bringing it to the mid 400's. my grandmother said she knew someone who would do all the work himself (he says he has all the required equipment) for 20$ in his garage. now that would save me a lot of money. but on the other side, i dont know the guy personally and im not sure if i feel comfortable to let some guy i dont know to do the work. what would y'all do in this kind of situation?

let him do it as long as you can overlook the process and make sure he doesnt fuck anything up. personally i would do it myself though, its a pretty easy job

personally, i would love to do it. i just have absolutley no car experiance at all. and as much as i want to do it, i would rather just pay the money and not fuck it up.
