    Default Custom Mid-Pipe?

So I've got a Meagan Racing 4-1 Shorty Header and a Blitz NuR-Spec Axle-Back Exhaust on the Yaris. Both parts help the exhaust breath, but between them is 1.5" stock exhaust pipe with a thick@ss catalytic converter to hamper things. I'm thinking about buying a high-flow cat from Random Technology and then getting a custom 2.5" midpipe made. Should help the exhaust breath better as well as help the Blitz muffler sound better. I still want a cat as I'd rather not blow-out my secondary O2 sensor, but would like some better breathability.

What is IA's opinion on this? Worth the time and money? I'm not an expert on N/A exhaust systems so any info is appreciated.

Random Technology cat is good but pricey. You could get Magnaflow or Car Sound cat for a fraction of price and they are very good products also.

Yeah, I was thinking Magnaflow too. I also need to find a nice long resonator. Any ideas on where to go other than Summit? Whom would you have make the exhaust?

2.5" piping may be too large for your application. consider 2.25". 2.25" can handle about 170whp or so. Considering that a yaris only has a 1.5L engine and about 106hp stock, 2.25" piping should be more than sufficiant and will leave you with some backpressure. 2.5" piping will leave no backpressure and will probably cause you to lose power compared to the 2.25" piping. just my $.02

btw, your blitz nur spec axle back is only 50mm ID (a little less than 2"). I would definitely go with 2-2.25" for the midpipe, unless you plan on adding forced induction (blitz supercharger kit or turbo).

Barnett Performance has a ton of stuff for hot rod, and I know they carry a lot of Magnaflow products. Even if they don't carry it, they could order for you. http://www.barnettperformance.com/ . Give them a call! They have very good price too. They mostly carry universal stuff and domestic stuff, not many import. Another place is http://www.kteller.com/ . I usually got my exhaust done at Magic Muffler on Buford Hwy opposite with Nopi. They do good job and good price. If you live near Gwinnett, stop by them, or any decent muffler shop could weld do it.

I do plan on Supercharging sometime next year so I'm kinda planning ahead too.

All the exhausts I've found are axleback except for the C-ONE, but it's loud as f*ck and too expensive for me.

dam i figured the aftermarket was big for that car ...
id say hi flo cat 2.5" with a resonator, with th 2.5" all the way back. Without the resonator it will be raspy and u probrably wont like it at full throttle. but i think 2" would even be good for Fi on that 1.5... but who knows..

We're getting good turbo support as the little 1NZ-FE seems to like boost. Hell, we even have low-compression pistons, titanium valvetrains, and other go-fast goodies to boot...just not a large catback exhaust selection.

I won't go bigger than 2.5" for this little car, even after boost. A Magnaflow high-flow cat, nice long resonator and I should be good to go. I'm just looking for some second opinions.
