J.D.M. ~ A three letter acronym that has taken any originality out of the tuning scene while at the same time crediting a parrell universe where things that arn't "JDM" are said to be as if they are . At first it was a good idea when those few around the usa built cars to true JDM specs. But afrter many realized they either cant: afford, find, fabricate, to jdm specs they went with cheaper US solutions and it all went downhill from there. Today its main use is for novice tuners to down someone elses car just because it doesnt have a
JDM look.

It so stupid because those few on IA that have visited japan will know the scene out there is to be as extreme as possible. Years ago stuff like Veilside bodykits might have turned me away but now im one of the few people on IA that thinks the "ill just put a lip on it and call it a day" approach as lame and going with a huge bland trend. This is unless of course thats what the really want to do instead of fear of ridicule.

What is JDM today.....like APC before it, its hurting the tuner industry more than helping it.
