Default cars finally back on the road

Ok car was actually put back together last sunday but i have been taking some time after work just cleaning up a few things.

1st, wired up new single speed Aux fan to low speed of fan switch and didnt realize that when high speed kicks on low speed shuts off. then mysteriously my low speed in the fan switch burned out and only high speed worked. i jumped the fan switch plug with a jumper wire and low and high speed work which meant both relays were fine. i ended up picking up a lower temp fan switc from bmw 80/88c temp and also wired low and high speed wires to the single wire going to the fan and so far the fan comes on for low and then stays on for high, seems to be working out well.

2nd, car had a horrible idle, with the 1mm oversized valves VE has changed a lot from my last tune so i had the magic man Wayne bring over the wideband and he tuned out the idle from a surging 800rpms - 1500 rpms and 19 - 20 afr to a nice 14.5 - 15 afr with a solid 1000 rpm in with the tec 3 :buttrock (hes never played with wintec before).

3rd, motor doesnt seem to be picking up a tach signal from the crank sensor and thus i get a moto that cranks and cranks but doesnt start and then magically the tach signal comes through on the laptop and the car starts.

purchased a new crank sensor and will install next weekend along with checking the trigger wheel for any dents or issues on the teeth and replace with a spare i have if necessary.

4th even with lots of heat wrap and turbo blanky the under hood temps are blazing, so i was given some 2000 degree reflective material from thermotec for my birthday (thanks Wayne) for the shock tower and new aluminum valve cover to be made as well. also am considering a CF hood with vents to help get air in and look at ways to get air out fast from the bay.

5th i sourced a E30 coolant over flow tank (same as Euro E36) and will install that with new lines since my current over flow tank is wedged between the hot compressor housing not to mention the WG piping right under neath the tank heat wrapped the tank and pipe as well for now)

6th had to have a custom metal lower radiator pipe fabbed up because the turbo manifold WG discharge interfered with that even before we modified it for AC.

thats about all i can think of for now other than once i get all the above taken care of for sure get this thing tuned, it drives great out of boost though and nice and smooth. it 5 psi by accident didnt bog or hesitate

all the AC i currently hooked up, but i am waiting till everything is done before i recharge the system

have about 20 miles for break in so far, dont really drive it though im spoiled by my DD civic

just wanted to say Thanks to the following:

    THESE GUYS ARE ON BIMMERFORUMS

Wayne @ Autofab aka bluesmokeracing (he only has 1 post) for all the engine and fab work and advice
techno550 for more fab work, awesome advice and parts delivered whenever i called him up :buttrock
Ebydrc for the engine internal parts and turbo parts

Ill even say a thanks to Chrisman for the manifold because i got it and the down pipe although both hd to be severly modified to work as well as other non AC related parts

and last but certainly not least BFC FI section :buttrock

and lastly i have to say, if someone were to ask me if i would do it all over again? HELL NO

    on to the pix
