I"ve got a small mitsubishi tdo4 13c I pulled off a motor of mine. The car was running before I yanked it off, but I never really drove it with the liliputian turbo to see. I just cranked it and used it to move the car around, but it didn't smoke and seemed to make boost. Anyway, I'm selling the turbo and the guy paying asked me to measure if it has any side to side or axial play. I've measured the play and it seems pretty minimal. There is a very slight amount of axial play, but its fairly small (less than 1 mil).

The thing I am wondering is, when a turbo sits up for awhile and its bearings are dry, isn't there normally a bit more play than usual? If I could measure axial play, I'd place it at less than 1mm. Its that small. There is hardly any play in either direction. The turbo has sat on my shelf for roughly 1 year, so its bearings have not had oil in it in quite awhile. I want to be rid of the turbo but at the same time, I don't want to go selling anyone something that may go up in smoke on them a few months down the road. What do you all think?
