    Default Pink Spray Paint

    I have a simple problem...

I want to paint my rims pink.

There is no pink spray paint for automotive perposes.

Could anyone direct me to ANY pink spray paint, and then maybe I could work from there. I figure, even if it's not for rims, I could sand it, prime it, and clear it, in need be.

Don't do it!! B/c I wanna do it first

I've looked but haven't been able to find anything, but i've looked just like at wally world and lowe's. You should try like a paint store and see if maybe they have anything. Maybe Hobby Lobby?

We can do it together my hetero-sexual friend...... jk. But seriously, I think the hardest part is going to be finding a paint that will actually work!

Good luck with that. I don't think paint companies think there are too many applications for hot pink paint so it will be hard to find.

What color is your car and what is it(06 SI or does it just have 06 SI wheels)? I think pink looks good on certain cars(like STI's). IDK about pink wheels though.

Okay so Pep-boys "might" have it. I purchased Plasti-kote Hot Rod Red from a PepBoys in Sandy Springs.

Good. Black would be the best car to do pink wheels with IMHO.

    Lol, can't reveal the secrets.

    Just kidding,

    Color Lip and Wheel

    1. Tape off your lil air thing and anything you don't want mesed up. Lol. Trust me, I know. Then you strip off the old paint. With a paint remover/aircraft remover.

    2. After you got off as much as you can then you start sanding down with a 320 grit sand paper. Wash the wheels and dry them off.

    3. A coat of primer...you choose your color. Use a white for the bright colors.

    4. Let it dry and then come back bout an hour later and put on your first coat for you lip. Wait 30 minutes then put another.

    5. Let it dry completely. Maybe an hour or 2 depending on weather, unless you decide to bake them.

    6. Tape off your lip. remember everything you tape off is what's gonna show so make sure you tape straight and even.

    7. Then start painting your wheels. Put on one coat then wait about 30 minutes to an hour and then put another coat. Wait about 2 hours for dry or however long it takes and then pull out some 800 grit sand paper and wetsand the whole thing. Then grab your can of clear coat and clear coat away. I used about 2 coats of clear coat cause I was trying to save for the other wheels.

    Colored Lip

    1. In this case you don't need paint remover or aircraft remover...just sand your lip down with 320 grit. Wash the wheels and dry them.

    2. Tape off places that may get oversprayed that you don't want.

    3. Use a white primer to do a bright colored lip, if you want a dark lip, use a dark color primer. Spray primer on lip.

    4. Wait about an hour, then put on your base coat of your color for you lip. Wait another hour and then paint them again with the same color.

    5. Now wetsand with 800 grit sand paper on the lip and then wash it off and dry.

    6. Then spray on clear coat and wait about an hour and spray another coat of clear coat. Then you're finished. You can use more clear coat if you wanna but if you're on a budget like me...then 2 coats is good enough. Lol. Have fun!

Home depot has Neon Pink spray paint. I painted my Valvecover/cam cover with it. I used 80 grit/120/200 for sanding, spray on base (used metal coats for automotive), 6 coats of neon pink spray paint and a clear coat spray for last....now the shit wont hardly come off to repaint it gold....it also sits in an incredibly hot engine bay and still on.

Lol, no. It's her car. I said I was doing my girlfriend's 06 LX with Si's. If i got an 06 I would've got an Si or a Type-S no wasting money on something I really wouldn't want. But she's gonna trade it in later so we're good. But anyways, ITS MY GIRLFRIEND'S CAR, KYLE! Lol. Just to emphasize on it.

EDIT: I never said this was my girlfriend's wheels. Sorry, forgot to mention that. Hahaha. But I drive a 91 Red EF. That's why my wheels are black and red.
