sure will, wont be able to pass emisions
what sould i do with the ecu after i boost the car?
dude... just to let you know what your getting yourself into...
If your going to fully build your motor itll cost you about 8 grand
No build and slap on turbo will cost you 3 grand ish that is if you know what yoiur doing
and most of that shit is if you did it yourself... if you going to a shop and do it in which I recommend you doing... expect more...
I always wonder why people convert their OBD2 cars to OBD1. People say "tuneability" but when it comes down to it, 99% of the people who convert their cars like that are driving the thing on the street. To drive on the street, you have to pass emissions. so why pay 100's of dollars swapping, then 100's of dollars trying to get a "dirty" emissions and risk getting caught by GCAF and the EPA. just kinda stupid to me. If your car comes with OBD2 and you are driving it on the street, keep it OBD2
You can't chip OBD2 ecu, only OBD1 and OBD0 that is why. Chipped OBD1 ecu like P28 is fully programmable, allows you to fine tune your car. Dude, you don't understand, you take emission only once a year. When you get near that time just unplug the conversion harness and stick back the OBD2 to take emission. You are not going to fail. Once you pass emission, you run with OBD1 ecu again. Plain and simple! Nobody with OBD2 car is stupid enough to take emission with OBD1 ecu.Originally Posted by blank cd
