Default What the Hell @ 350Z

I like the 350Z's interior...but I just read in Car & Driver that it doesn't have a glove box. At first, I thought..."What the hell? Maybe that center storage bin is the substitute."

    Then I found this picture...

    Looks like there's something there...

    So...owners...glovebox: Yes or no.

I think the import question here is this: If you want comfort/convenience/storage space why don't you buy a damn minivan?

Honestly, I have no doubt that the 350z is a great handling/performing car but it's def the most awkward and uncomfortable thing i have ever driven.

So what's that thing that I see under the dash on the passenger side. Looks like a handle...

An ashtray over there? Could very well be...but what a location.

Damn...and I thought it was weird that the GTO's trunk-release button was in the glove-box.

It's not even clearly marked...it's just this little black stub. Those Australians...

Toyota's 4Runner's no better either. I read in Car & Driver about how they complained about the "ridiculous placement of the fuel-release door."

My friend and I tried to find it in the 4Runner at the Auto Show...took us like ten minutes. The shit is under the steering column. I'd expect the bonnet release to be there.

Psh...I'd make it a point to know a car 100% inside and out before I buy it.

When I test drove the GTO though...I asked to see the trunk. The guy knew where it was.

Speaking of which...the GTO has just enough trunk room. It's pretty damn small...

The small thing you see on the passenger front dash is an ashtray kinda. Small as shit, big enough to fit a lighter thats about it. And the compartments behind the seats is about the dumbest shit since HalfBaked's last post.* where ever that may be*.

I think the idea of behind-the-seat storage is very clever...but it's absolutely stupid if it's used as a substitute for a glove-box.

hahahahaha you guys are funny! the thing you see on the passenger side is a cup holder you push it and it comes out. (useless really) glove box it behind the passenger seat. If you want convenience then get the G35 coupe.

    Agreed.

We had one at the lot for a few weeks. I drove it a few times, and if you've seen the Top gear review of it, Clarkson is exactly right.

    It's noisy and awkward.

I don't think the S2000 has one either. Its a sports car so I can overlook that.

what you see there is actually a cushion pad thing for your leg. they came standard on 05+ 350z's. mine is an 04 and has nothing there. there is a big compartment behind the passenger's seat which is actually bigger than any glove box, just not very easy to get to while you're driving. on Touring/track models, there is a subwoofer behind the driver's seat.

the 350z is not an awkward car to drive, but its drivetrain is a bit noisy. its stock clutch is actually pretty beefy and tends to chatter alot. the gearbox (just like in most true sport cars) is clicky and notchy.

The S2000 has a center compartment to fit a few items. You can easily fit a nice-sized handgun, insurance card, lug key, insurance card, etc. There's also a seperate compartment between the upper part of the top of the seats also.

Imagine getting pulled over in a 350Z w/ a passenger. That would be annoying and suck... especially if it's raining, lol.

My prelude has the smallest glove box ever but I have that huge rear-center storage.

The 350z is awkward to sit in, but I love all the sounds. The S2000 is actually comfortable to me, the only gripe I have is the not so good sound-system, but its okay, the car sounds like sex.

I think 350z interiors are a dissapointment. The car looks real nice on the outside, has a nice engine, but the interior just seems really cheap for a $28K+ car. The cloth seats and the leather seats look strange and cheap, and the cheap plastic used throughout the car don't do it for me.

I like the styling of the interior...everything just looks really dull.
