    Default turbo question????!???

I do not know much if any about the different types of turbos. I work in a warehouse with tons of them (for trucks). Would a garrett turbo, built for a 7.3 litre International engine, work on say my car. I know we have a shit ton of Garrett, Cummins, Detroit Deisel, etc. parts I even think we have turbonetics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The one i was looking at says A/R .65 on it....not sure where a part number would be on one of these bad boys (garrett turbo part number) that is. I know the part number we sell it under.

that might be a little too big, try finding one with a smaller A/R ratio, then u can hook me up afterwards

GT35R is kick ass. idk if they are all the same though. but they are kick ass. Alotta imports run GT35R turbo's, now if GT35 and GT35R are the same, i can't answer that.

R just means it's ball bearing. no R means it's not.
a GT35R's a pretty big turbo, tops out around 650hp on an EVO. builds boost at a fairly high rpm. It's more a drag/highway turbo. probably too big for a rsx.

i'm with him on the topic, u would like to have a turbo that will spool fast, but still have enough for the top-end power, i dont know too much about the turbos, but i do know that turbonetics t3/t4 is perfect for a k-motor, so get all the spec on the t3/t4 and find one just like it in ur warehouse......then call me cause i want on toooooooooooo.

if you learn how to read a compressor map that will help you understand which size turbo is best for you and what will spool better.

a GT35R turbo is a fantastic turbo but will probably spool late on your motor.

the smaller the turbo will spool quicker but get suffocate on the top end, or stop making power early in the band.

when you talk turbos for 7.0+ motors, they really arent applicable to the 4 cylinder motors like hondas have. alot of these turbos have a very large turbine side. A/R is a measurement .... the area of the inlet over the radius from the center of the inlet to the center of the turbine wheel. sooo, (the area of the inlet size) divided by (the distance from the center of that inlet to the center of the wheel) = a/r. turbos have 2 a/r ratios ... one for the compressor side and one for the exhaust side. small turbos can have a bigger a/r than big turbos. it all just depends on what the turbo is built for. usually a larger a/r is designed for more exhaust to create spool.
