    Default drove a miata today.

im buying a miata soon, so i saw one at a lot and talked to them today....

this one was a salvage/repair. 96, needs a new top ( they wanted 4500 LOL)

BUT i drove it anyway cause i wanted to. the guy told me "drive it however u want like im not here) i was doing 45 mph at the time s oi threw it in 2nd, then went to a road with a s turn.

it handled great, not fast, but fun to drive.

lovced it. made me positive ill be getting a miata.

    auto x /scca here i come.

Good to hear you liked it. Seems like a fun car to drive, not fast, but fun.

BTW: Do you know if you got that job yet?

I always thought about building one: import one from across the pond in silver or black w/ hardtop and conservative front bumper/lip, black tint, sleepy eyes w/ projectors, highest quality suspension i could find then dropped on SSR Comp C's, Panosports, or crazy offset TE37's, etc. Just clean & simple

I drove a MX-5 a few months ago at Zoom Zoom Live. That car is sooooo much fun to drive. If it wasn't so small, I'd get one.

Lots of advantages to owning a Miata. Besides the fun factor, they are pretty cheap to buy and maintain. Usually the original owners are older folks that never beat them to death. Insurance is cheap as hell. Nice 1st gens can be bought for $4,500.00 or less all day long and 2nd gens for $6,500.00 or less. Easy to work on, top comes off, and decent gas mileage. Probably one of the best values on the market. I love mine for sho.

i said aw11, meaning a mk1... the mk2 is not in the same class as a miata.

this one is probably putting down 160-170whp since it has a bigger sc pulley, and weighs about the same as a miata and handles just as good (if not better, since its mid-engine). they are usually really cheap, that one is $5k because its really nice.

Handling on each is about the same given the same mods. The miatas though seem to dominate over the MR2's in the autox classes and stuff is easier to get and easier to work on. I say miata all day over any of the MR2's for handling and fun to drive factor. Of course I'm biased since I own one and never liked the handling or upkeep on the Mk1 MR2's.
