I have also seen BBS wheels sheer the center clean off the barrel of the wheel from heavy use. Honestly, its all relative to what you're doing.

This past weekend i was at the BMW DE at Road Atlanta and saw several cars running Rotas with no problems. I used Rotas from drifting for awhile with no problems, and im using Enkeis for both DD and drifting with no problems. I have seen the lips on several SportMax wheel randomly break though....
