    Default Crankcase Breather Filters

All I know is that this replaces taht stupid piece of piping from the engine to the intake. My question what the heck is the sizing for the Prelude? A 1/2, 5/8 ..Im confused.

Engine to the intake? You mean the air filter?

Could be the same as mine?

I think mine is 1/2. I just got the generic APC one at Advanced.

Welll I need to eiter get a filter or new piping but not sure where to get the piping from. And no not the filter for intake. Its the filter that sits on top of you engine most likely to the left for most hondas.

Its the crankcase breather is what you're talking about, I think it'll be just find to put the funny looking filter on it if you wanted to but it's suppose to let blow by go back into your intake & back into the motor. I think it's 1/2" though

But I don't like oil in my intake.

#1, the filter in the pic above is NOT filtering the crankcase...that would be the valve cover. Unless you are doing some hard driving and pushing serious g-forces there won't be much oil going back to intake from there. I check my intake all the time and i'd say I push my car through turns harder than 90% of the honda's on here...no oil. We do use the filter on the race cars but that's consistent 100-140mph driving with hard turns throughout.

#2, you always need a positive vacuum on the crank case or the bottom end is going to lock down or at least slow down feeling like you're running gear oil in your block. (kinda like when you put your finger over a straw and dip it in water...try to get the water out without lifting the finger, that air lock is what your engine block will do if there's not enough ventilation preventing the oil and internals from moving)

There IS quite a bit of oil leaving the crankcase...it goes from the Block through the PCV valve to Intake (for a constant positive suction) but you can put a "catch can" between the PCV valve and intake manifold to collect that oil & oily sludge from going back into your intake to prevent pointlessly lubricating your injectors and sparkplugs. I made mine from an oil removal filter (yes oil, not water..but either will work) for lines between the air compressor pneumatic tools.

On the race cars the crank case is vented out the exhaust, great positive suction at all times and it just burns the blow-by out the back...don't do it if you still have cats! Think it was eventually outlawed by NHRA but alot of dragsters were installing vacuum pumps for serious ventilation that greatly improved horsepower...2-5% might not sound like much but when you have 1,000+hp it adds up!
