Default s300 tunning, I've got an issue

in my IAT compensation, the temperature ranges from -40 F to 100F, and I can NOT change those end temperatures ....

I can change the temperature in the middle, but not the end ones, meaning that I'm limited for corrections in the range of -40F to 100F.

the higher end is where it sucks for me, cause my IATs are 70F to 130F with the turbo ..

So, for those who run Hondata s300 - can you change the upper temperature ?

    I use SManager version 1.2.2.0 / December 2006

anything past the 100 mark will use that correction...what are you needing? your iat are pushing beyond 130? do you have fmic?

    I figured it out. thanks.

now the range is from -40 to 212 F. I posted on the hondata forum about how I fixed it.

my IATs are 70-130F, and that's in winter time now, so I need IAT correction well above 100F

you just need to double click on the temp you want to change and type it in.

when the iat get that out of control it'll retard timing.

i don't think i've ever seen iat that high...something sounds wrong. what's your setup?

you can not change the end temperatures .. you can only change the temperatures in between ..

so I just opened another calibration with tems. from -40 to 212F, and pasted my maps on top, so it worked fine. Also, if you open the calibration file with a text editor, you'll see where those values are stored, so my other plan was to go and change those like that, but the first way worked fine ..

    I've got a GReddy 15G intercooled on my D16Z6.

wierd...i've never needed to change it, but went into s300 and actually changed 100 to 150.

are you seeing iat of 130 in boost or just at idle? even if at idle that's high.

I'm using version 1.2.2.0 of the SManager ... maybe older versions permit that change ...

I'm not sure why the IATs are so high ... usualy I'm in the 100F range I may move the intake filter behind the tranny, so that the air that it's gonna go in will be cooler .. but I'm not up to that part now

    yep ...

but that' now. In the summer I expect around 130F IATs ..

BTW, the car runs on 12psi since today ... and going up most likely. But I may leave it at that level for a while to see how it behaves in a long term

i think you need a more efficient FMIC if your IAT's are seeing 130. Unless you are just high boosting that turbo and its blowing hot air.

    the FMIC is fine.

I think that because the IAT sensor is mounted on the IM, which gets kinda hot, the sensor may read temperatures that are higher than what those are in the reality.

also, one guy over H-T suggested that the stock IAT sensor is not so sensitive and needs some time to adjust its output, and therefore it may not be good for tunning. He said he use a GM IAT sensor .. but I've never heard anybody else to use that, so I don't know.

also, the turbo inlet filter sits just under the hood where it gets kinda hot, so if I move the filter elsewhere, my IATs would drop most likely.

the 15G is a small turbo though

if you insist to be that way, then it's "spelling" ... not "speclling"

the iat does respond fairly quickly. at idle when tuning typically your iat will be higher than when your actually moving more air through the intake at partial throttle and during the pull will usually go down from there too. if you don't have an fmic or your turbo is spinning it's little heart out more than it should is the only reason i would see iats that high.

your turbo should be good for that psi. i run a 13t (tiny a$$ turbo) a step up from a t25 and have pushed 12+ psi w/o getting iat in the 130's and i have a seriously ghetto setup.

you could try moving the iat to the intake tube, but i don't think you'll see much of a difference.

i would've thought that moving the intake to a colder air location would make a difference, but there have been tests that have shown the difference wouldn't be 30* worth of iat. i don't see it hurting anything moving it, but i don't think it's going to drop you 30.

anyways, the IAT compensation is currently at -1% for every 10 deg F increase, and it seems that this works just great.

I had to adjust the ECT compensation as well, but no biggy ...

also, a little gear compensation helped too.

Damn, I it does steady 11.5:1 A/F while in boost with hot/cold engine, hot/cold IATs, and on each grear

the IATs are about 100F when driving on say 4th grear.
