Please go back and find ANY THREAD EVER when i worked for Mainstream where i claimed i was the lead or head mechanic. When i came to Mainstream i didnt even know James, he was working at Jiffy Lube. The mechanics we had on staff where Charles (OWNER) and a part time High school kid named ERIC (had a blue EP3).

I was working as an assistant manager at NOPI SMYRNA and I was not happy with the way they were treating me. I had started a side business called SRZ RACING that was me, JohnZM, Jenson, OG people you wouldnt know of. I procured business and was renting space from Mainstream Performance to work on cars on the side. I wasnt the main person doing the work, that was Jenson or John but i did my fair share when i could (i was working full time).

After a few months, Charles and I had a conversation about me working for him. I quit NOPI and went to Mainstream to be the marketing,parts sales, advertising, customer service person, aka Front Office manager. That was my role from DAY 1 and it never changed. There were times when i would help out and work on cars, on my own. Days charles was gone, or weeks we were slammed, but i was NEVER a mechanic by trade. It wasnt what i was good at. I would say the 3 years i worked at Mainstream, i did 5% of the mechanical work, and thats probably still high. Charles and Eric(later James) were the ones that did the bullk of the work, because that was THEIR ROLE and what they were good at.

I was never hired to be a mechanic, and i never ever represented that i was a mechanic. youre free to prove me wrong.

This is probably the most laughable thing you cling to. your OPINION is i dont know how to work on a car, but thats complete and utter bullshit. I do know how to work on cars, i have worked on cars for over 10 years, its just NOT what i enjoy doing. I never enjoyed getting my hands dirty, I dont have the patience for it. But to use a blanket statement and tell me i dont know how to work on cars is BULLSHIT.

Ive built engines, ive changed brakes, ive changed oil, ive done engine swaps, ive done wiring, ive done everything there is to do to the EF and EG chassis , so i dont know what you mean that i "LIE".

Hell, i changed the rear brakes on my S2000 last week, even though i had never done it before, BY MYSELF, does that make me a master mechanic now? Am i still lieing?

The fact is you are pissed off that i had a reputable engine builder build me an engine that set recrods 6 years ago, and you think it makes me less of a man because i didnt do it myself. you realize that is a post from like 2005 right? BMC ? i dont even know what that is. I posted that article at a time when no one knew anything about NA and there was no one doing the things that myself, Black R, Johnzm, etc were doing in Atlanta. So i made a quick sticky in my spare time to teach some basics on NA and how to build a proper setup.

It was all personal knowledge i had learned from other industry experts, charles, james, myself, etc. It was meant to help inform other people, because i realized when i was coming up there was ZERO INFO out there about what to do. back in the day, we had to buy parts and just see what happened. there wasnt the info that was out there today. I think that post is pretty well informed, and most people agree according to the posts. I could probably add another 20 pages to it, but it was never meant to be an all encompassing post, it was just a starting point. People can do their own research from there.

Again, i dont know what you know about me personally, but ive never claimed to be a "baller". Ive only gone on about how miniscule you and your life is to me. Im not a baller. I made 80,000 last year, and now im unemployed(lost my job in march). I own a 8 year old S2000, and i rent a nice condo downtown because Im probably moving to DC eventually. Yes i have a roomate, and thats only because you get a nicer place with a 2 bedroom than a 1 bedroom in downtown ($1000 1 bedroom 900 sq ft vs $1700 2 bedroom 1400sq ft). my roomate is one of my bestfriends, and it was just a good situation not to throw money away so we split a nice place downtown. Doesnt make me broke, doesnt make me anything.
