Chris....follow my advice closely and you can make some people in this forum eat their words.....JJ and myself worked long and hard to make that car go

#1 get rid of the nozzle crap, it's inefficient....replace it with a plate kit....which iirc all you really need to do is relocate your gas/nitrous solenoids and ditch the nozzle for a plate...as a matter of fact JJ has the plate that came off the car, unless he has sold it

#2 tires, tires, tires....My previous offer on the wheels was like $600....I'll throw 'em at you just because I want to see this car make a # again for $500, skinnies, slicks, center caps, and all!

#3 The car has air bags for a reason....and 20 #'s in slicks? Good lord, I wouldn't run 20 #'s on dr's....save a couple bucks and pay JJ for a little track help, take in everything he says, hell write it down if you have to. I went from 13.8s on et streets to 12.8's simply by having JJ there to guide me with the tires and bags.

#4 tuning software....get some, you're leaving precious power on the table by not doing so...

#5 track time track time track time....it took me a couple months to learn that car on slicks, how to launch it without breaking stuff, etc....and pucker your asshole because it get hairy at times

cliff notes, bring me $1000...i'll set you up with slicks and tuning software, throw some money at JJ and let him teach you how to use what you bought, get rid of that horrid nozzle setup.

I know what money constraints are like....you don't have to take out a loan but if you want it bad enough you have to learn to sacrifice to get there...that car can run 10's all day long every day....you just gotta get it back there

Exactly what I've told him also. He'd be in the 10s no problem if he could listen to advice.

There is another option that I've pointed out to him also - he could just hire Evil Goat as his driver..... it's the fastest way he could make his car quick again....

@ evilgoat I appreciate the advice man and I don't see how ppl expect me on here expext me to be an expert on slicks when I've never ran em. My first burnout was horrid but I got the hang of it.

If you're ready to run me, you must be an expert!

Seriously, you need to spend an afternoon with Evil at least to learn how to use the car's setup to your advantage.
Do you think that I am not going to have Bob show me how to get the most out of my new transmission setup? He's going to the track with me to walk me through the way I should setup and launch the car after I get back in town. I'm smart enough to know that I should ask for advice from others that are better at some things than I am. I hope that you realize that you have that opportunity also, and chose to take advantage of it.

it comes with the territory man....you can't talk the trash you talk and not expect them to poke at you

p.s. a bias ply/radial tire mix isn't the safest thing in the world....I went 11.3's with et streets and the 18's up front holding on for dear life after the 1/8th marker lol

chouston, I haven't had a problem with the mix, but to be safe, almost everyone will recommend that they shouldn't be mixed. I have radials on my street wheels, but have a full set of slicks and skinnies for the drag wheels. I suggest that you follow Evil Goat's advice here.

Welll when I was at the track I heard something pop but it was a relatively low rumble but It drove home fine sounded like rear end whine, I just changed the spark plugs because the gap was gone on of them and was skippin... After I did that I started feeling vibration in the car so I thought the car was still skippin so I got on it in first gear and something let go, I think its in the pumpkin because the car still moves. Everytime I'd shift I would hear something in the rear end. damnit
