Yeah I mean this was a long time ago. Here's why I think that way:

My 237whp Crx dynoed at mainstream at 10am, then I drove 10 miles to batlground for a "Honda tEch "meet and at 1115 I dynoed 228whp on their dyno

Shaggys itr eg made 172whp at balanced and 12 hours later made 185whp at mainstream

I've seen a ton of guys dyno higher at balanced that at mainstream

And I worked 3 years at mainstream and a year at batlground prob dynoed over 500-600 cars total.

But this was before MAINSTREAMS new dyno, and I haven't kept up with who makes what now and vice versa

And frankly I'm willing to concede the "possible" % higher if it's even true which I don't know haven't dynoed enough on thR new dyno.

So I will assume that all things remain equal.

If someone makes a legitimate 250whp STD On MAINSTREAMS dyno(yes STD) I will pay them $100. No excuses.

If it makes 250 on Morris dyno and 230 on mainstreams then I'm not paying but I will def say "nice motor"

If it makes 230 on Morris dyno but 250 on mainstreams I'll pay

I'd prefer pump gas, but I'll allow c16 , it doesn't add that much power anyway.

All my numbers were quoted STD and so are almost any other numbers out of mainstream. So it's only fair I give them the same courtesy.

I made 240 on 93 octane if they need c16 to do the same so be it

But again that's a dumb argument. If you don't want people knowing your numbers why go around saying you make 250 or will make 250. Why not just say it "makes enough"

The whole issue of whp is because people from that camp claim it exists, my challenge is merely there to have them prove it in a dyno I trust.

If this car dynoed 250+ in ny, awesome. That's means nothing to me. My challenge is make a legit 250whp IN GEORGIA. I know how hard it is to dyno in GA. Which is why my challenge TAKES PLACE IN GA.

Bobby my car made roughly 3% over the last numbers @ the same low boost setting (1 year ago on the same dyno.) Loose is fast!! and on the edge of outta control!

Ok here is the thing though. Nothing of what he said really warranted a SMH response IMHO. Nor did it disagree with what you said. So that is why I asked. What he said is true and nitrous simply isn't as stable or repeatable as a turbo. Does that mean it's wholly unsafe though? Does that mean nitrous cannot be done safely? No and he did not say that. Doest that mean that it cannot be controlled and done succesfully? No and he did not say that either.

While is true that any car you build will have variables and any car you build will almost certainly have a high exchange cost of durability for performance I think it would be very fair to say that with nitrous there is a finer line to be walking on compared to other things that can be done to a car i.e. a turbo, s/c, or a built motor. You dont agree there is a larger margin for error with those as compared to a nitrous car?

Your last comment actuall really solidifies this. If you either know what you're doing or you dont then wouldn't that mean you are walking a precarious line?

I was just going off what he said about stock motors where Morris disagreed as I do. For all the real tuner's out there they will tell you that it is possible to run 125-150 shots on stock block and yes fuel and tuning are the what keeps motors together. Since he claim the ringlands are so weak and etc etc what causes them to crack and break hummm detonation so if octane that is used is raised that will yeild a higher detonation point but again what do I know. I'm glad you said any car you build has variables thats so true say a turbo car with bad wg placement or a boost leak sound like variables to me but hay it is what it is. I prefer n20 car over a turbo car anyday Morris can tell you this, with nitrous cars thinking inside the box it seems like they have smaller margin for error but once you step out of the box and try different things the light comes on. Nitrous can be just as repeatable as a turbo car in my opinion from things I have tried and done along the way but opinions are like asshole everyone's got one.
